maryannlOld Goat in FL wrote: 1949, Christmas eve, actually early Christmas morning, a young man named Warren scurried home from Christmas eve service from the 12th Street Reformed Church, to begin celebrating Christmas with his family. 20 years or so later this same scene was repeated by a large group of young people who lived mostly from Prospect Avenue through the Twenties. Rushing home from various Church's to be with friends & families. About 40 years after that an amazing thing happened. Those people who lived from Prospect avenue through the twenties found each other on a silly little thing called a BLOG. Who ever would have imagined that when BLOGS were started that it could have such magical powers as to bring together these people, relatives, friends, acquainteces to relive so many memories. The magic continues. A small group of people, led by Terry Angelo, have worked their butts off to have a SECOND reunion of these folks just two months short of 40 years from that Christmas. They have over achieved and now have over 200 people coming together on Staten Island to eat, drink and share many, many memories.
Hi Warren, this is wonderful, very well written!!!
That young man named Warren (Not young any more) wishes you all a wonderful day of fellowship, enjoying each others company eating, and not telling too many tales out of school. Just think, this is happening 60 years after my scoot home from Church.I am envious of your accomplishments!!!

dominoThank you TBone and Robert. I appreciate any leads! I keep getting notices now to my email every time someone posts anything to this section - I guess if anybody does find a copy they can send me a private message. -
maryannlDomino wrote: I meandered onto this site waaaaay back in the hopes of finding the BF a copy of his high school yearbook. He graduated John Jay HS in 1972.
Well, still searching!!!!
I have contacted Bd of Ed, Thornton Photography, went on classmates.com and eBay. Nada. Zero. Zip.
Anybody out there who might know somebody else out there who might still have a copy? This would make him the happiest Brooklynite in Brooklyn!

Have you called the school directly? I would think the school library would keep copies. Good Luck!

are you on Facebook?
There is a John Jay page for the 80's. If you are not, I can ask for you if you like.
You might also want to post this to the Brooklyn Back When group. Many of them grew up around there and might have someone who still has their yearbook from then
Hi Folks - at the suggestion of Stacey I am hoping someone on this site could help in my efforts at finding a John Jay Yearbook from 1972. Checked the Facebook page and there is no one from the 1970's. Any luck here? -
dominoHi MaryAnn L - sorry to say the school no longer exists. -
maryannlYes, a beautiful day today!!!
Festina, how's mom, hope she's feeling better today.
Terry, I love your jacket! Mia is a little doll, love her sitting there with the laptop, she looked like a pro!! Those cookies look good. You mentioned therapy, I say anyone that needs therapy needs to join this group!!!!!!!!! They will be cured in a matter of minutes............ LOL
Suzie, how old is Samantha? My gd will be 2 in Nov., they are so cute at that age. My gs who is 3 visited Friday night, we ordered pizza and the next night his mom ordered pizza and he told her No Mom, I had pizza last night. They are so smart and listen to everything, I warned her to be careful what she says in front of him.
Debbie, that's too bad about the stoop sale and you carried all the stuff from the basement, how crazy is that?
Patsy, glad you had a nice time last night, I miss those block parties!!!!
Everyone, enjoy the remainder of the day!!!! -

Hi, goes to show you how long I've been away from BROOKLYN!!!! How about the public libraries?
I once worked with a guy that had been adopted and he went back to the state where he was born and contacted area High Schools, got his hands on their yearbooks to search for his bio parents, it was very interesting. -
