Hi Mike, sorry but that's not me we always called each other cousin but we were not blood relitavies the others owners name was Frank.
D'Amico is a pretty comon name, one of my uncles owned a used car lot on 32nd & 4th ave and he changed his name for bussiness purposes to John D'Emic

My Grandpa owned a car lot in the 1940's and I think it was that one. I have to ask my Uncle Augie (Harpo) when he gets home from vacation. My Grandpa sold it when my Dad was at war. World War II. I cant remember the name. It will come to me

the Angelo and Leone Families that was the curly's

but there really was a family in the hood with the real last name harpo who used to go out with theresa minafo, may she RIP, in fact, may both RIP.

He worked in D'Amico's and maybe owned it at some point..

there was a lady named jeanne who used to work there and she would always give some for free! lol.
she was so nice! Not only the 7 layer cookies but the pignoli cookies as well. ALL of the Italian Ices were good but my favorite wound up being cremalota. After D'Amico closed I would go up 86th St. and I believe 25th ave to get the cremalota and other ices...was worth the trip
