barbaraspencerThanks guys for agreeing with me. I never even thought of the fact that we could be shut down, I was just commenting that we should try to stay a family friendly board. I don't know what it is about me, but I just hate that word. My mom (God rest her soul) never cursed in the house and never allowed us kids to do it either. (I have tried to follow suit with my kids and thankfully for the most part it has worked.) Don't get me wrong, as soon as I was out the door I would drop it now and then to be in with the in crowd, but I was just never one to use that kind of language in everyday conversation. I hear it on the street constantly (especially the kids) and I really feel sad that our society as a whole has become so immune to it's use. I guess I am just old-fashioned and I hope you guys are not upset with me. And thank you for trying. I'll shut-up now. -
anthony umbriaBARBARA
LIKE I SAID THEY WILL NOT SHUT US DOWN FOR THIS
AND EVERYBODY HAS THERE OPINION AND THERE IS NO RIGHT OR WRONG WITH THAT
BUT LIKE I ALSO SAID ITS NOTHING NEW THE LANGUAGE ESPECIALLY FOR THE GUYS
AND AS FAR AS FEELING SAD FOR THIS SOCIETY TODAY WELL DONT FEEL THAT WAY OVER THE LANGUAGE BUT DO FEEL THAT WAY OVER THE NEW WAYS OF OUR SOCIETY
THE CURSEING IS NOTHING NEW
AND AGAIN LIKE I TOLD YOU BEFORE I WILL TRY MY BEST
FOR A BROOKLYN GUY THATS A HARD THING TO DO LOL -

Thanks Anthony, I appreciate that. And you are so right the way our society is today cursing doesn't really even make the list but every little bit helps. Everything and anything goes today and in my opinon, that is really sad. Although the bloom is off the rose now for me, I really wouldn't want to be young again in this day and age and I do worry about our kids and grandkids. Just my opinon. Thanks again. -
geriob1Back Again with....
The Joke of the Evening... Ta! Da!
A man wanted to get married. He was having trouble choosing among three likely candidates. He gives each woman a present of $5,000 and watches to see what they do with the money.
The first does a total makeover. She goes to a fancy beauty salon, gets her hair done, new makeup; buys several new outfits and dresses up very nicely for the man. She tells him that she has done this to be more attractive for him because she loves him so much. The man was impressed.
The second goes shopping to buy the man gifts. She gets him a new set of golf clubs, some new gizmo's for his computer, and some expensive clothes. As she presents these gifts, she tells him that she has spent all the money on him because she loves him so much. Again, the man is impressed.
The third invests the money in the stock market. She earns several times the $5,000. She gives him back his $5,000 and reinvests the remainder in a joint account. She tells him that she wants to save for their future because she loves him so much. Obviously, the man was impressed.
The man thought for a long time about what each woman had done with the money he'd given her.
Then he married the one with the biggest tits. Men are like that, you know. -

they were the best!
so was the chocolate! yum!
and the seven layers, amazing!
there was a lady named jeanne who used to work there and she would always give some for free! lol.
she was so nice! Not only the 7 layer cookies but the pignoli cookies as well. ALL of the Italian Ices were good but my favorite wound up being cremalota. After D'Amico closed I would go up 86th St. and I believe 25th ave to get the cremalota and other ices...was worth the trip
Yes yes that pastry shop was called Angelo's, and that is now closed as well
SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT THE RECIPE FOR THE RAINBOW COOKIES WAS D'AMICO'S RECIPE. DID U TEL ME THAT FRED OR SOMEONE ELSE???SENIOR MOMENT

guzzo hereme?
i feel there's a time and place for using the word barbara.
sometimes no other word can express the meaning of fuck, the way fuck can.
sometimes it carry's the perfect sentiment at the perfect time where no other word can, and i really hav no problem either hearing it or saying it myself, cause i get it.
nor, does using it define someone's heart or intention.
i know people who never used the word who r evil thru and thru, and others who use it on a daily basis who u would think r God's angels.
personally, i kinda like the word, and the act isn't bad either, lol.
...but, welcome, it's good to see u again, i respect ur opinion, and hope we can at least agree to disagree.
...and where i feel the word fits, as i i hav used it here in the past, i will continue to use it in the future.
...and dats my 2 cents. -
