Purebreed Mini Pincher for Adoption
I've had him for a few days, and I just can't keep him. He's scared so he's gotten a little aggressive on me and frankly, I'm just not a pincher kinda girl.
He really responds well to men, and I think he'd be a good dog after a few days, so if there is ANYONE (I'm really desperate) who is interested, please contact me immediately.
If I don't find anyone by tomorrow at the latest, I have to take him to the pound. I don't want to- I just have no choice at this point.

Why did you get this dog if you aren't a "pincher kind of girl"?
Have you considered getting it some training? -
Don't take the dog to the pound - at least try local rescue groups. Here are some good ones:
Waggytail Rescue
K9 Kastle
B.A.R.C. (Brooklyn Animal Resource Coalition)
Stray From The Heart -
Flexi- didn't know I wasn't until it bit me. Believe me, I know. I WAY underestimated how difficult this dog was going to be.
UPDATE: Got a call from a rescue group who have an approved family who want a min pin. We'll see. -

Contacted them already- they never responded. Thanks, though!
-
OK- she did respond- all their foster homes are full AND they have a waiting list for fosters. Too bad....

Here are some more local rescue organizations, if you have not already contacted them:

Please have mercy on the dog and do not take him to Animal Care & Control ("the pound") if at all possible. They are inundated with unwanted pets and euthanize the ones they cannot find homes for. (I know because I work with a local animal welfare organization, and daily my email inbox is flooded with desperate pleas for homes for these death-row animals.)
Can you add a photo of the dog here? A visual would help. Also posting flyers around the neighborhood works well. If you do find someone on your own, take care to screen them--unfortunately there are unscrupulous folks out there who take "free" pets to sell to labs or to dogfighting rings... -
I know the BARC people well (my two dogs are/were from there and I have volunteered with them for more than 15 years). They are really great, totally devoted to animals, and they're a no-kill outfit, too. Definitely call them: 718-486-7489 (www.barcshelter.org). Your dog will be loved and cared for beautifully for as long as they have him, and they do will everything they can do find him a home. They are very cautious about screening adopters, too. They're open today!!

We can un-sticky this. Gave doggie to a guy that could handle a biter!

For future reference, if you're adopting a dog, PLEASE do research on the breed first. Also, if you're this willing to give a dog away over a little difficulty, please think long and hard before ever adopting one. This is why shelters are full and perfectly great animals are euthanised every day!
It breaks my heart that such a wonderful dog as a Min Pin had to go through this because you didn't know what you were getting into. They are an amazing, intelligent breed and deserve to be with people who understand their nuances. As someone who IS a "pinscher type of girl" I find it horrifying that you adopted this dog without prior research!
(they aren't Chihuahuas, no matter how much you want them to be)

FYI the posts here have been soft pedaled quite a bit. She _did_ do research, and took the dog as a favor, and wasn't expecting a Chihuahua. The issues originated in that the original foster for the dog did not disclose some serious behavior problems, I assume because _they_ needed to get the dog out of their apartment and were worried that no one would take the dog if they knew the full scope of his problems. And there is no need to be horrified, because despite the trouble she gave herself trying to find a home for a "problem" dog, she fully disclosed _everything_ and found him a home with someone willing and able to work with his issues.

After what this dog has been put through _prior_ to her getting him, he is _very_ lucky that he found someone willing to do what was needed to be done in order to find him an appropriate home. -

As Daver said, I did do research on the breed, but this dog was simply too aggressive (not particularly "wonderful", IMO). The night before I gave him away, he ripped my hand to shreds.
The people who passed him off to me DID NOT DISCLOSE everything about him (granted that may have been limited due to the fact they only had him for a couple of days).
Not EVERY dog is adoptable. Not EVERY dog is trainable. I think that with a great deal of time and effort, MAYBE this dog would become the dream dog. But this particular dog was NOT a blank slate. He had issues.
While I may have jumped quick to take him without really thinking things through, I did it because I love animals, and I wanted to see him in a good home. I believe he has that now. -

She's not this guy.....

Dog bite!
At least she tried to give him a chance and then found him a good home instead of just dumping him somewhere.
Howdy, Stranger!
