Runners, check it out! Brooklyn Hash Sunday 5/28
We might even have a BBQ!
Who are the Brooklyn Hash House Harriers?
A group of 20-30 runners who meet at a predetermined location every other Monday at 7:00 pm in the Borough of Brooklyn. They are part of a loosely organized worldwide network of hashes. Some people run fast, others run slow. It all depends on your ability.
What do they do?
A member of the group (the hare) presets a trail using a system of chalk and flour marks along the way. The rest of the group tries to follow the trail, and if all goes well, they end up at a drinking establishment, have some refreshing beverages, and a bite to eat*. Trails are usually between 3 and 5 miles and the hare will bring your bag to the bar.
Where are the hashes?
Anywhere in Brooklyn. The pack never knows where a trail will go or where it may lead. Hashers may run through streets, back alleyways, parks, whatever. No matter what, at trail's end it’s still a party.
Why?
You enjoy a good run (or walk), a nice cold beer, and the company of likeminded others.
When?
Sunday, May 272:00pmstart at Grand Army Plaza 2/3
Monday, June 127:00pmstart at 5th Ave and 9th St (FMR to 4th Avenue)
