Hello... from a potential prospect heights tenent... are there any community gardens in the area? Thanks!

  • I think there is one on St Mark's between underhill and Vanderbuilt, not sure though.
  • You are correct, Captain. Anyone can get a plot there, if any are available. A nice group of people, too.
  • Subject: thanks

    Thank you for the advice!
  • I saw that Oasis map as well, am I stupid or does it seem needlessly difficult to use? Or (gasp) both?
  • The interface is pretty weak, but the info is cool if you can sort it out
  • I'm a member of the community garden on St. Mark's btw Underhill and Vanderbilt - the Prospect Heights Community Farm. Anyone is welcome to join, though there's usually a waiting list to get an individual bed - just stop by one of our meetings (we try to post the times near the gate). We also have open hours on weekends (when it's not raining) round mid-day to mid-afternoon. Please stop by and visit!

There's also another community garden just down the block from us on St. Mark's (btw Vanderbilt and Carlton). I don't know what their deal is, but they seem like lovely folks too.
  • Ahh yes, the PH community garden (St. Marks) is a site to embrace. I've watched people with their children cultivate their gardens and bring to life vegetables, herbs, and other plants in homesteader fashion.

    Thumb of green
    Rain dance tune
    May we all be nourished
    from Gaia's womb
