Yankees v. Red Sox -- where to watch?

I know that 200 Fifth will be showing it - good food too
-
um, where might it be safe to watch the game if you are a Sox fan?
-
The Lighthouse - aka the Shipwreck, aka The Teal Bar - the place next door to Aunt Suzies, on 5th and maybe Carroll - I think the majority of bartenders there are either a) from Boston or b) hate the yankees. The vibe can be a little wierd, though.

The Park Slope Ale House is usually showing the game.

I'm going in to the Hairy Monk because I have friends coming in to join us.

And thus the place should be moved to Boston, where it belongs.
I walked into that place and it was like some weird after-hours den of iniquity. Boston fans sitting in the dark watching the Sox. I ran as though I had stumbled upon a nasty underworld.
No offense, but I'm a little tired of all these new fairweather Boston fans in NYC with their fresh-out-of-the-oven hats. -

Not my buddy - say it aint so
Im still like ya anyway. Im glad you didn't say anything to Jay that day - I swear if you cut him he bleeds pinstripes -
This is a good question! I have a friend coming in from DC, and no matter what, he's gotta catch the game on Saturday afternoon. That new Nalani cafe on Vanderbilt seems to do a bit of the "sports bar" thing.

Yes, I didn't dare mention anything in front of your husband or son who were proudly sporting their Yankees attire, but what can I say? The Sox are the hometeam for this cupcake.

Freddy's actually had a large Red Sox contingent, but that bartender is gone so the vibe is hopefully more new york now.
-
i know that mezcals usually has more than a few boston fans watching.

My boyfriend, a huge Red Sox fan, will be watching the game at Bar on Smith & Sackett. He says, and I quote "Last year it turned into a regular outpost of Red Sox Nation. The Yankees fans had to leave because they weren't having any fun." There will be some die-hard Yankees fans there, no doubt. But hat only makes it more exciting. The head Sox fan #1 will be standing right next to the TV because he will undoubtable forget his glasses. Good natured ribbing all 'round.

biggest red sox bar in nyc is at the riviera cafe on 7th ave south and christopher st. believe it...

As a Red Sox fan I will probably go to a Mets bar to watch.

Mets bars? I'm intrigued. What bars in the area are Mets friendly?
On a baseball related note, I saw my last Mike Piazza at bat tonight at Shea, he struck out with the bases loaded. Disappointing, but I was happy he got such a nice sendoff. Plus my friend drove me and we made it back to PH by car in 16 minutes. -

Tim was a sox fan. Great bartender nonetheless.
Matt is a Yankees fan.
And I agree, it is disappointing to find 'red sox' bars in Brooklyn.
Loki's on 5th is a Mets bar. But the Mets aren't on TV again 'til next April. -
You think Red Sox fans have it rough? Try being a Braves fan in NYC. I grew up in Florida; Atlanta was the only team even remotely close to us until the founding of the Marlin (the plural of marlin is marlin...).
sigh
