Shooting on St. Johns

Between Franklin and Classon, about 10 minutes ago. Five loud shots, followed by a car tearing down the street. A few minutes later, two ambulances came.

A lady on my part of the block came running out of her house, yelling "Where is my son!"

Apparently at least one person was shot. A few minutes after the shooting, after the police were there, another car came tearing down the block and stopped right in front of my house. A guy jumped out of it, screaming "Get back in the crib, man!" And was promptly, and vigorously, arrested.

Any bets on whether or not this will make any kind of news tomorrow?

Edited to add: I don't know why this post says it happened at 4 pm -- it's 9:30.

yeah, I just came home about ten minutes ago and the block was blocked off
cop said "they're shooting down there"
i thought he meant a movie and was wondering where the lights were til my neighbor filled me in,

They don't? It's there every night I'm outside. Bwap-bwap-bwap-bwap-bwap-bwap-bwap-bwap-bwap-bwap-bwap-bwap-bwap.

By the way, can anyone tell me why, when the police come up my block, they ALWAYS come up the block the wrong way on a one-way street? Not just one car, but twenty sometimes, all charging the wrong way up the street.

Anybody see the shooting in the news? Didn't think so. My neighbors confirm that somebody was shot, and that "It was drugs."

I don't completely understand this -- a car pulled up and somebody jumped out to warn somebody on the street to get inside? I guess because they knew somebody was after somebody?

heh heh heh, well then in that case, i recommend you buy a cheap pair of computer speakers or a cheap home theater system or something. our old crappy system used to pick up loads of police radio signals, and people's nextel conversations :twisted: . sadly, it died.

i don't suggest you buy a guitar or bass amp for this purpose, as they only seem to pick up pirate low power soca stations. :shock:

Ha! We used to leave our cheapie radio tuned to static for white noise when we went to bed until we noticed it was picking up police scanners and waking us up in the middle of the night...and/or infiltrating our dreams :shock:

There was one night, many years ago that I thought something along the lines of Satan speaking to me or my bass amp was possessed by the dead was happening. I kept hearing this deep voice calling me names and talking about how he fucked my girlfriend. Satan was taunting me through my guitar amp! I actually fled my apartment with thoughts of the Exorcist dancing in my head. Much later, my slightly wiser roommate explained to me that I was picking up some drunk yahoo with a ham radio that was somewhere in the neighborhood. It scared the shit out of me.

hahaha the same thing that happened to daveb happened to me here like a couple of days ago... my friend and i were jamming, he was soloing, and strange voices started coming out of the amp. I've seen it happen before, but it was new to him, the look on his face was priceless. He was looking down at his fingers and his guitar, while still playing, and was clearly thinking that the noise had something to do with how awesome a guitar player he was or something. hilarious.

ugh, the voice of satan never graces us with its presence. no matter HOW many times we try to conjure him up. i must live outside the delivery zone for him too. satan is such a wuss.
