Can't be dead... too much ground for Harry to cover by himself next year, if that's the case...
Any theories on RAB? (Is that what it was? I don't have the book here at work...) -

I cried when Gandalf fell (reading, not the movie)... and if you want geek, here's my claim to geekdom- in 7th grade, I used to ditch school to read LOTR... -
After reading that UK edition, it might be interesting for him to check that site I linked a couple posts back. It points out some very interesting edit changes that were made between the UK and the US versions that lend credence to my DD lives argument.

RAB is totally Regulus Black.
-
I think we just cracked the dorkometer.
-
no the dorkmeter says "i'm not dead yet! i don't want to go on the cart! i feel happy!"
-
We're definitely the coolest people ever.

damn. you beat me.
geeks are cool. and you will not believe the absurd amount of money I spent getting the UK edition overnighted to me when it came out. I am the dork-princess. -

Hoo! I knew it was only a matter of time! (For the Potter discussions, that is, although perhaps I could have called the dorkometer damage as well.) -

Okay, but is it more or less dorky to go to a bookstore full of children at midnight to get the book the day it comes out and then additionally order the "deluxe" edition from the UK, which comes out later? Of course, that was partly me and partly Mr. M, so there's two of us to spread the dorkiness amongst. -

ahem. for book 7's release I've already promised a group of crazed dorks on LJ that I'll fly to London, stand in line with british children, and stay up all night with them reading it/analyzing it, etc. I am the biggest weirdo ever. not really. I'm not going to http://www.witchinghour.org/.
but I really want to. -
Okay, you win.
I stayed up all night reading this book but it didn't really seem worthwhile, so I doubt I'll do the midnight thing again, let alone fly anywhere. -
EmilyM wrote: Okay, you win.
it's really just an excuse to fly to london. like "I have to go to london because of ... harry potter!" also, getting the book overnighted to me is like 1/6 of a round trip plane ticket. might as well cough up the remaining 5/6 and maybe toodle around europe a bit.

It's dorkier when you charge into the store, mowing brats down left and right, clotheslining kindergarters to get to the front of the line. -

Pfft. Until you start playing D+D, you're just a wannabe. -

we might, if we could get in on your game. until then, we're just thwarted dorks. -
oooh nooo i draw the line at d&d. that's just right out.
-
t-fal wrote: oooh nooo i draw the line at d&d. that's just right out.
actually, I kinda do too. though I think it would be really amusing in some revisit-my-childhood sort of way. it'd be like a bad episode of angel -- playing d&d in the back of a bar. -
Candicissima, I know that, like me, you are disturbed my the turn this thread has taken. And that, like me, you have thrown up a little bit in your mouth.

Yeah. How dorky are we, that we're not even cool enough to get past the velvet rope to your campaign. -

Yeah man. I was shaking my head at the screen wondering where my poor thread went wrong. -

(someone shoot me now, please) -
Consider yourself shot. I can't even think of anything to reply with that would be more nerdy.
Oh wait, how 'bout this: "your ultranerd is pastede on yey"
This doesn't even make sense anymore. *shakes head sadly*
ETA: some semblance of grammar -

I dunno, but you all are scaring me. More talk about drinks, people who drink too much, and board games, less about geek codes and such. Kthanxbye.
