    After reading that UK edition, it might be interesting for him to check that site I linked a couple posts back. It points out some very interesting edit changes that were made between the UK and the US versions that lend credence to my DD lives argument.

    Okay, but is it more or less dorky to go to a bookstore full of children at midnight to get the book the day it comes out and then additionally order the "deluxe" edition from the UK, which comes out later? Of course, that was partly me and partly Mr. M, so there's two of us to spread the dorkiness amongst.

    ahem. for book 7's release I've already promised a group of crazed dorks on LJ that I'll fly to London, stand in line with british children, and stay up all night with them reading it/analyzing it, etc. I am the biggest weirdo ever. not really. I'm not going to http://www.witchinghour.org/.

    it's really just an excuse to fly to london. like "I have to go to london because of ... harry potter!" also, getting the book overnighted to me is like 1/6 of a round trip plane ticket. might as well cough up the remaining 5/6 and maybe toodle around europe a bit.

    actually, I kinda do too. though I think it would be really amusing in some revisit-my-childhood sort of way. it'd be like a bad episode of angel -- playing d&d in the back of a bar.
