looking for: detailed MAP of Prospect Heights

edited November -1 in Prospect Heights
hi - new person here. i just moved to brooklyn at the end of july. trying to become more familiar with my area, while being an insane overbooked student in manhattan.. it's been interesting :)

anyway, i've been looking for restaurants + laundries, and while there are lots of useful suggestions on this forum, i have no idea where some of these streets are, relative to my apt.

so is there some kind of a good, detailed map of prospect heights available online? doesn't have to be fancy. as long as i can zoom in & out, and see individual streets, that's perfect. thank you!

  • Try picking an address in the middle of the neighorhood and using Googlemaps. They're very clear and detailed.
  • Here's a sample link: laundry near 11238.

You can find a list of local business addresses at the North Flatbush online.
  • If you want a paper version, there's a nice $3 "North Flatbush Neighborhood" map that covers north Park Slope and Prospect Heights. It's annotated with lots of local businesses. I bought it at the New York Naturals at the corner of 6th and Flatbush. Published by the North Flatbush Business Improvement District; http://www.nfbid.com/.

I think I got that map for free. Maybe at Delicacies? I don't remember where.
  • moments after i bought one of those maps at a neighborhood shop i walked over to Soda for a beer and lo and behold, they were giving them out for free - check along the window sill. if i were new to the neighborhood though i'd pony up the $3.
  • I suggest you use this link. Select 'Prospect Heights' under NYC Neighborhood - and you can see the boundaries.

    Hope this helps.
  • Download Google Earth. It's entertaining, and informative.
