Anyone read this book-A Million Little Pieces by james Frey?

Well, Boaty, for what it's worth, I would suggest that you hang in there.

Granted, Frey's story is pretty intense -- and it remains so throughout; he's a 'tough guy' character who truly hits bottom and the book can be a pretty painful read. However, when he comes over to the flip side, he brings the reader with him and it's quite wonderful. His ability to capture the horrors of addiction and the very tenuous and often fragile nature of sobriety is quite amazing, particularly given the young age at which he wrote that book. I hear the sequel is quite good as well.

I'd be interested in hearing what you think when you're done.

I actually think the last thing he's looking for is sympathy. He realizes early on he's got a great deal of strength, strength that a lot of the people he encounters in the rehab do not. It's those people toward whom he shows the greatest concern and compassion.
