gotta be a butcher shop. to judge by the paucity of these, they must be the most unprofitable stores in nyc (chain drugstores must be the most profitable).
also, a produce store. if i could buy produce and meat i could finally remove the food coop brain implant that controls my behavior. -

When I lived in the Bronx (Morris Park) there were two right across the street from each other! -

A green grocers and a pool table and I'm all set.

A reliable bail bonds agent.
A 24 hour store for those late night trips for 24 lb test fishing wire, lye, trashbags and rubber gloves.
Ack...I've said too much! -
How about a nice clean nail salon?

geez, im really not liking the tone of some of these "discussions" lately.
between this and the thread about the oklahoma kids, im like "geez, when did we all become such whining, argumentative fucks"?
lol.
and also: its just the internet. relax.

I can definitely agree with that! (Though, I'll admit I'm probably currently coming across as a little argumentative.)

nah, ive intentionally paid minimal attention to the whos-who of whining on here lately, cause im not trying to be a finger pointer (esp as im guilty of it to some degree at times)... it just seems that people sure have been enjoying escalating what amounts to simply different opinions into sweeping self-important rants, aggressive namecalling and just general pointless-to-a-fault bitching.
i do it. its easy to feel self-righteous when youre sitting behind a computer and sticking to your guns in an internet argument. but hot damn! we dont all have to be on the same page. brooklyn- and proho- is more diverse in opinions and perspectives than in any other aspect. is that a bad thing?
but for real. we're all neighbors, some of us are friends. lets all be cool, ok? didnt we all learn in grammar school how to nicely talk to others, even when what we'd really rather do is force our opinions and views on them? 8) 8) 8) 8)
ok, ill get offa my soapbox now. just felt like ranting a bit.
and no Candicissima, this isnt really in regards to you. jsut a general wish for this site. -

The best dentist in the world is in Clinton Hills - Dr. Charles Grannum - and I am the biggest chicken in the world when it comes to dentists! The guy actually kisses you on the forehead before and after he sticks the needle in - I will never go to another dentist. Pain free - tough to get an appt though! -
easy... a bar with a pool table!!! damn soda bar for getting rid of theirs.

I also wish for a place to buy fresh pasta and other Italian specialties. I miss Russo's in the Slope.

That's a great shop. I stop in there every time I bike over to Bagel Hole.
Actually, I usually go for the trifecta: Bagel Hole, Russo's, Leaf & Bean. -

I go to Pastosa's on New Utricht in Brooklyn. They have the best Ravioli - there used to be one on Court Street near Carroll - I think they have closed though. I go at least once a month so if you want to try them let me know.

My mom used to teach at New Utrecht High School. There are lots of great markets out there; she used to shop there all the time. -

I love to shop for food there - there is a great place on the corner of 65th Street and I think its 18th Ave or 20th Ave that has every type/brand/size of prociutte (sp?) and they let you taste EACH one! You can have lunch there just by tasting. They also have the best selection of cheeses I have ever seen! MMM im now craving chicken stuffed with provolone wrapped up in prociutte -
Four fried chickens, some dry white toast and a Coke. 8)

Umm, well ... I think some doctors have been sued for 'kissing before/after sticking' ...
 -
boaty wrote: The guy actually kisses you on the forehead before and after he sticks the needle in
hmm, that sounds tremendously creepy, if you ask me. i prefer dentists of the non-kissing variety. -
A whole foods or a "Back to the land" (or trader joes even) type place that specializes in organic food and such.

ahh were you the one having the noisy neighbor problem?
our walls here are actually really great. we never hear other people's music, and i only hear my roommate having sex when she's being absurdly loud

Just to clarify for the sake of accuracy, I didn't write that thing about the kissing dentist (Rhodamine had quoted me). Boaty did.

fixed. stupid quote parsing!   -
I'm up for a bowling ALLEY and a skating RINK.
But, more than THAT ... A dentist who will kiss my forehead before he nails me with his drill ...
Who could ask for more?
 -
OK OK OK......point made - I don't know the difference between a ring, a rink or an alley.....
But, I'm sticking with my kissing dentist until the end!
