    fewer instances of bad grammar.
  • A Radio Shack (or other non-chain equivalent, although I've never seen one) would be cool.

Also, more places open 24 hours. One of the supermarkets at least should be open until midnight.

i gotta second that about radioshack. and please make it a well-stocked one. the one in park slope is perpetually out-of-stock on every random component i ever need. its sad when i have to order a $2 capacitor via their website cause none of their zillion local stores seem to have it in stock- or even know what it is.
  • I second that about the late-closing grocery stores. I find it very bizarre that they close so early around here--I feel like I'm in Boston on a Sunday or something.
  • The Radio Shack on Flatbush and Atlantic isn't that far. And the Key Food on Flatbush is open until midnight. I'm actually okay with knowing that the Pathmark is 24 hours and if I'm bored and really need to wander for some milk and/or cookies at 3am, I can make an trek out of it.

I actually didn't realize that the Pathmark is open 24 hours. That's good to know. The Key Food usually seems like they're shutting down before 12 though. Are they really always open until midnight?

That's what the sign said...then again, when I was there the other day, I might have seen a new one that proclaimed them open 24 hours too. We need someone on the ground to investigate!

There's also a 24-hour Key Food on 7th Avenue and Carroll St(?).

So far (for a quick errand)...

I know, I'm a wuss. I used to live around the corner from a 24-hour Gristede's and it spoiled me.

Electrical and electronic components (switches, resisters, capacitors, etc) as well as cables, connectors, adapters of all types, batteries, etc.

Ah. Okay- I was going to call the Hi-Fi police on you if you were going to buy stereo gear there... :)

They're not that bad for lower-end stuff. If you're going to buy a Sony, RCA, or similar level system, you might actually get an identical product, from the same factory but without the logo, at Radio Shack. I agree, if you can afford it, you're better off going to a real audiophile store.

Their audio gear make my spine crawl...

For some reason, I thought that Onkyo made some of their stuff... which actually isn't all that bad... :?
  • According to my GF, the Flatbush Key Food is now 24 hours.

that creepy bodega? admittedly, i loved that place all summer when i needed to go get a 40 while bombing down bergen on my longboard. at 4am.
  • The bodega on Park and Classon is too, but I meant more of a proper grocery store. And Flatbush is a bit far for me... I'm not asking for 24 hours, necessarily, but Key Foods and C-Town both close very early by NY standards, that's all.

  • And while we're at it, my ultimate wish for Prospect Heights is a good rock venue. Like, maybe Southpaw could move up to Washington Ave. But then I suppose whoever wanted less hipsters will be sorely disappointed.

hey now...don't knock that place too hard...it's basically right outside my door. the guys are nice. sketchy people are always hanging out there (keep your eye out for the burgundy car that is ALWAYS parked out front with dudes sitting inside of it). overall, i like the place...EXCEPT for their $9/six pack of Brooklyn.

my boyfriend is going through a massive electronics geek phase right now and has found mouser.com (sp? i dunno, my eyes glaze over once the electronics talk begins) to be a valuable resource when radioshack fails him. which is often.
  • I thought the Key Food on Flatbush was starting to open 24 hours - not sure.....

calm down, now. i'm not getting defensive at all, nor did i take offense.

just being cheeky. but, i do live right there...and i do like it. by the way, they have pretty decent sandwiches.
