If you own the green vw bus that had the window smashed mon night on waverly ave, i saw the guy (kid?) do it. Two bangs with his left elbow was all it took. I opened my front door and yelled, "WHAT THE F#%K ARE YA DOIN!?!" He then ran off (up the street in my direction, so, like the tough urbanite that i am, I squealed like a little girl, slammed the door shut, and threw the deadbolt).
I called 911, but i didn't see any 5-0 come by. Anyway, he didn't get anything from your car then. But after i went to sleep he might have come back.

Aw, we had TWO green VW busses when I was a kid (puce and forest). But no more.

The number for Community Affairs at the 88th is 718-636-6511. I assume they would know about any precinct meeting.

But the first time my car window was busted I called the 88th and no cop ever showed up.

Actually the Community Affairs at the 88th precinct is 718-636-6526 and there is only one CA Officer, that is Officer Connor. The 88th precinct meetings are always the third Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm and they move around so its best to call the precinct to find out where they will be. They do have a mailing list so if you go to the meeting be sure to sign in and write new member next to your name so they know. This months meeting is Oct. 18, 2005, 7:30pm at Brown Memorial Church on the corner of Washington and Gates.

grandzu1, there is a fairly new captain at the precinct and his name is Capt. Cosgrove. If you have a problem with the officers or the precinct you should give him a call and let him know. (Just for future reference) When you call the precinct directly its not recorded but when you call 911 or 311 it is, so if you are calling the precinct make sure you write down the time and name of the officer that you spoke to.
