There was one day when I lived there when I walked by the alley next to my building and looking down it, saw about 15 guys completely covered in gang colors (red), head to toe, standing in a cricle doing something bad to someone else. I guess they must have been doing one of those initiation beat-downs or something. Naturally I resisted the temptation to gape or whip out the digital camera. -
The Lincoln Block association showed up , in response to what they percieved as a lack of police attention to a particular shooting that occurred on their block. They brought it to the polices' attention that there had been increased gang activity on a certain corner, marked my thugs wearing colors and increased "tagging" on that same corner, which the police mentioned they had noticed too. There was recently another shooting similar to the one on Lincoln, "execution style" to the back of the head, that occurred on a nearby block but fell under another precients jurisdiction, so police present were not familiar with it.
so, some present at the meeting suggesting that both shootings were gang related, the po-po said they were going to look into the connection. -
I'm wondering if the gang activity on St. John's Place has anything to do with the death on St. John's place that's in another thread...
I saw a couple of MS13 initiations when I was living in DC... like total crazy beatdowns and stuff... pretty crazy, not something I'm eager to see again. Of course, DC makes Prospect Heights seem like the picture of safety. -
Hopefully 50 cent will settle things down. I decided to take a break from college out in Connecticut and enlist in G-Unit for a 2 year tour. Not only will they pay for the remainder of my college in New Haven, but they will also provide me the training and skills it takes to succeed in the real world. Becoming a G-Unit soldier is probably one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I get to meet new people, visit beautiful places, and do what I've always wanted: sling crack for bling.
