Heights Coffee has a liquor license

Just stopped by Heights Coffee. They are getting bagels, wraps, beer and wine. Beer and wine won't be coming until they get supplier issues worked out (maybe November or December).

For now, the wireless works, and the iced coffee is good (and costs about a buck fifty).

  • Thank god bagels.
  • I was in there for the first time the other day ... the coffee was very good and the croissants were great. It was quite nice. I was pleasantly surprised.

    :D
  • I really like it in there myself. I agree with earlier posters who said the music was a little bad/loud, but other than that I find the place much to my liking. I had a fantastic zucchini/bran/peach/plum muffin the other day, and the seating is quite comfy. Also, for whoever was asking about outlets for laptops, there's one available at every table. And lots of non-table seating for those of us who just want some coffee.
  • Current music selection: "Here I come again on my own, goin' down the only road I've ever known..."
  • Yeah, the music is waaay loud there.
  • what kind of coffee do they use?
  • Any coffeehouse that plays whitesnake is cool with me.

One time I read this like weird academic essay about that song and the video and how it adhered and promoted masculine forms of music, as compared to madonna's "live to tell," which, according to whoever the writer was, broke down traditional "masculine" song structure. It was weird and esoteric and hilarious because it means that somewhere someone with a phD in music or musicology or whatever was sitting for a long time breaking down and analyzing Whitesnake songs.

If and when I get there, I'll be writing my doctoral dissertation about Autograph's "Turn Up The Radio."

What this has to do with coffee is beyond me, but hey, bagels are good.
  • Where is it?
  • Anyone know when they're starting offering beer and wine? Will they be open later once they do?

I don't really see myself going there for alcohol though... I still like 'em!

I went there for the first time yesterday morning and the young woman behind the counter was mean to me...
  • Mean? What do you mean?

Did you complain about them playing Whitesnake too loudly?
  • Mean? Really? Wow. They tend to be so unusually nice.
  • I'm gonna get WAAAAASTED there.

That's how I feel looking at your signature! Just when I got all 6(!) parts out my head, I'm back to cracking myself up with Trapped In The Closet lines. Thanks

It's on Flatbush, a few storefronts north of Park Place on the PH side.
  • why do the tops of the to-go cups not keep the coffee in?! coffee did not see m very strong: not exectly bad, but... yet not really so good.
  • I always drink the dark roast coffee. Tasty. I've never had a problem with the travel cup either (unlike Ozzies!)
