i read this board but rarely post....but this stuff is just getting outgrageous. i thought i'd just post here, just for the hell of it.

1. an article from the Washinton Post...Bush: Ideology Motivates Iraq Insurgents. here's a lovely quote from our leader.
"These people are motivated by a vision of the world that is backward and barbaric,"

2. Why has 'Downing Street memo' story been a 'dud' in US?
A mid-2002 British memo saying US was planning to 'fix' intelligence to fit plans to invade Iraq has not been big news.
see links below....

3. oh and don't forget about the newsweek debacle....from most news agencies today...."FBI Documents Say Detainees Cited Koran Abuse."

  • I'm not going to read your links but yeah, Bush is a stupid head.
  • Living in Prospect Heights I have found that anytime that I complain about Bush and the Iraq War everyone agrees that he is an idiot, war criminal, etc. So since there is very little debate on the topic, I don't talk much about it with fellow believers. When I venture to Long Island or see college friends who still live in Texas, however, it is a whole different story.
  • It's true that it's not as exciting to discuss politics with the converted, However, maybe pointing out repeated examples of the current administration's truly evil (not just innocently stupid) policies will whip up our group of forward-thinking people into righteous fury and lead us to ACT! 8)

my point exactly. you don't see the "right" sitting back and relaxing, or settling into their bubble. they are winning!
the comfort level we find here in the bubble of new york is an illusion.
amnesty international is launching a campaign against america. just as our country rallied around defeating the regime of hussein (excluding those few like-minded individuals we all know), so too will the rest of the world. and its not just our government they hate...we elected that idiot again.
believe it or not, you may think everyone you know agrees with you on the issues. but have you really asked? alot of people havent even read a paper in a year...not that the news is informative...but really ask. you'll be shocked how much they don't know.

ps we are the minority, not in numbers, but b/c our voices are not united.
  • FYI, there is a Libertarian Party Meeting a freddies , I think wednesday, but I think the goal is discuss political issues.
