Need to kill some time? Like movies?! This is for you!
Here's the deal- some guy or gal spent a lot of time erasing movie stars from screenshots (but leaving all clothing/accesories intact) to entertain and vex people like you and me in a "name that film" guessing game... here's a low-rez screenshot from the spreadsheet-

There are 60 screenshots, and the spreadsheet can be specific about spelling and usually requires the full name of the movie- example, the above scene is only counted as correct if you enter "fear and loathing in las vegas," not just "fear and loathing."
Anyway, it's fun. now kill some time!

Okay... Here's a good logic problem that outwardly looks like a number problem-
There is one ten digit series that satisfies the following qualifications- what is it?
The first digit in the series represents the number of 1s in the 10 digit series. (ex- if the first digit in the series is a 3, there must be three 1s among the other 9 digits...)
The second digit represents the number of 2s in the 10 digit series.
The third digit represents the number of 3s in the 10 digit series, fourth is the number of 4s, etc, etc...
The last (10th) digit reresents the number of 0s in the 10 digit number.
Have fun!!! -
Hmm...I'll give it a shot. I meant more along those "there's 5 new cars, X has a blue one, Y bought hers 3rd, etc," but beggars can't be choosers! :P

edit:  *dumb*
That's harder than I thought... figures the answer would take me longer than 3 seconds to figure out. hmn...
I'll ponder... -

which are you talking about? If it's the 10 digit one, sometimes it only takes a few minutes... but most people never figure it out! No reason to despair!

Subject: Spoiler ALERT
Spoiler ALERT: highlight to show answer.
2100010006
amd yea, the ten digit one..
immediately I thought it was...
0000000009
then... oh nohs... that'd have to be 0000000019... but wait, that means there's only 8 zeros now, making it 0000000118.. ARGH now there's only 7 zeros.. and ... etc etc.. :P -
Not too shabby!
You should put a 'spoiler alert' on your post with your answer! -
Here's another one- what's the next number in the series?

11
21
1211
111221

I'm normally not that good at these sort of things, but I'm participating in an all night, citywide puzzle solving marathon this weekend, and I've been studying.
Actually... could you send me some of the puzzles youre getting? I wanna warm my team up. We won first place last year, and we aim to do it again.
You can read about the game, and see some of the previous years puzzles... http://www.midnight-madness.org

Midnight Madness!
I wanted to play that a few years ago, but I got lazy...

I just get stuff sent to me on occasion- my wife has a co-worker, Stan, and he likes puzzles. Stan has a masters and a doctorate in math-heavy fields, I forget what, exactly, but he's a smart guy... anyway, he likes to pass stuff my way. These were a couple of the problems that he's given me- I don't have a book, or anything... Sorry! I'll see if I can remember some of the more fun ones that I've come across...
Sounds like a fun event, though! Need another team member?!

Yay! I love these puzzles
Thanks!
