Bread Smell
Ok, i know this may sound either really wierd or really ignorant, but i just moved to the neighborhood and it is perplexing me.
I keep noticing a really strong (and quite nice) baking bread smell when i exit the C train at Clinton Washington. It gets stronger as i walk toward Atlantic, but disappears soon after crossing the thoroughfare.
Is there a commercial bakery around there? Is it wafting over from some place in Clinton Hill? And why is Prospect Heights getting shafted in the aroma department?

There's a new bakery on Vanderbilt... it COULD be wafting over.

The pleasant odor has hung in the air around there for at least 8 years/probaby longer. A friend who lives on Atlantic up by Bedford told me about a now defunct cookie factory that still kicks out delish smells...could be that, but it's definitely not 'new'.downtowndenizen wrote: Ok, i know this may sound either really wierd or really ignorant, but i just moved to the neighborhood and it is perplexing me.

There's a big commercial bakery on Waverly and Fulton.

I'd give my right arm for a commercial bakery in the neighborhood

I got a nice whiff of bakey goodness on my block (Bergen between Grand and Classon) one evening a couple of weeks ago -- guess the wind was just right at that time, because it was the first and so far last time I've smelled ANYTHING that good on my block.
