  • Say Linus, why don't you post more than links to other sites? Perhaps a line or two about what is so interesting at the end of the link...
    :D
People might be interested in the things you are pointing to, but I don't think you'll get much response with your current method.

  • This isn't brownstoner or curbed. I agree that a quick line about what is interesting about the link would be nice.

I noticed you've posted a bunch of times, without creating discussion.
This is a message board, and your stuff isn't getting any traction because there's no info. Check out any one of the more active nabe boards here - people respond and discuss. Or this http://brooklynian.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=33704
I appreciate that you are trying to populate this board, and so I offered a suggestion on how to make it work.

On Brownstoner and Curbed: those blogs link using at least a headline followed by the source of the link, if not writing a whole paragraph before sending you to the link. You see the difference, right?

The minimum Brownstoner has is something like:
Navy Yard Watch: New Tow Pound Building Rising [Brownstoner]
with the link embedded using the URL button.

as opposed to what you're putting up now:
    http://www.brownstoner.com/brownstoner/archives/2007/09/navy_yard_watch.php
which doesn't communicate very much. It also doesn't tell us what you think about the story. I actually post a ton of topics with links on this site, to get discussion going. I'm one of the moderators here.

You can get more info on how this site works in the FAQ link at the top of the page, or on the Ask Brooklynian board at the bottom of the main index.
