Broken Digital Camera

Is there anywhere I can go in the neighborhood to get my camera fixed?

  • Try the camera store on 7th Avenue between Carroll and President Streets. I brought my camera there recently, but decided that the cost of having it repaired ($150) wasn't worth it since it's a 4 year old camera and it makes more sense to buy a new one.

  • Sorry I can't help with repairs
As for a new point and shoot, I love my Panasonic lumix dmc-fx07. It's tough, pocket-sized, and everyone comments on the great quality of the pictures. There may be a newer version now and if it's anything like this one, it should be good.

  • Canons seem fine. They are also readily repairable in New York.

  • When my Olympus broke a couple of years ago the best repair was offered by the factory. I sent it in. they gave me an estimate to fix it without charging for the estimate and fixed it and got it back in a couple of weeks. Every place I looked at locally wanted to charge me for the estimate.

I've heard tell that when you send it into the factory they often just fix it when they give you the estimate so that even if you say don't bother fixing it it come back fixed.

Past that there is a place in the city on 13th St, I think between 3rd and 4th that is authorize3d repair center for lots of brands

Please tell me where! My Canon broke on Thanksgiving and I couldn't find a repair center in NY. My only option is to send it to Canon in Elk Grove Village, IL for $125! I could buy a new camera for that.
  • Subject: Canon Repair

I love my Canon Rebel. I just wish I knew how to use it.

These stores (below) are all certified for Canon repair, but you have to call them about your make and model. They may not support all Canon repair.

I also found a yellow pages listing (which includes these) of digital camera repair in NYC, but don't know if they are Canon certified. I'll PM the URL.
