  • Grab is awesome, and will continue to get my cheese business. I'm just excited to have someplace to buy good meat.

  • Flexi, totally off topic, but have you ever had the cream epoisse? The kind that when you unwrap it and leave it on a plate for an hour, it oozes out, filling the entire plate with stinky deliciousness? Mmmm.

  • Just did a quick walkthrough - it's beautiful, and not half as expensive as everyone makes it out to be. Sure, it's a tad pricey, but I have paid those prices in local bodegas before. If you want gourmet stuff, you gotta pay gourmet prices.

I am so psyched it's finally here.

  • It's wonderful! I think Grab and Russo's will be fine. They both seem to have a loyal clientele. If anything, I hope this place puts that piece of shit ghetto Key Food in Windsor Terrace out of business.

I'm also concerned about my favorite produce store - the place near Bog Nose and Full Body on 7th Avenue. Best produce in the slope and they are great people.

Although, I must say the produce display at UM was impressive.....Long Leaf Radicchio? Mini Cauliflower? Pretty cool.

  • I stopped in early this evening ,the produce is great, but the aisle space is really limited .
I had to squeeze past a customer who had a computer print out of items to be purchased and his two children running loose while a stroller blocked passage.

I'll have to shop during the off hours

  • Subject: Best Vegetables in The Slope in the Smallest Store

For anyone who wants to know, and be in the know, Mr. Lee's Fruit and Vegetable market is the oldest traditional Korean Grocery store in Park Slope. (Opened around 1980). Mr. Lee and Mrs. Lee are the kindest people with the best fruit and vegetables in Park Slope. I am always amazed at the freshness and the quality, always cleaned correctly, and always so damn good.

I am not saying Union market is not a good grocery ... just that the best is already here.

Yeah, I like the Lees and shop their frequently. Wish it was a little bigger. I haven't found the fruits and vegetables to be as exceptional as you have, but it's still a nice little place that I'll continue to support.

I also really like the deli at 7th and 14th, too. They've recently made a somewhat sad attempt at adding fruits and veggies, but their prices are better than any deli in the neighborhood (and, I've noticed, sometimes better than Steve's C-Town), they have a lot of stuff and a pretty decent beer selection.

  • as an avid gardener, i believe this lee's place (can't quite tell from the picture) also has the best plants in all of park slope in the spring/summer/fall. if this is the place, i bought about 20 plants from them this summer for the garden, and not only were they the cheapest around (MUCH cheaper than the GAP Greenmarket) but they were always the best quality and largest plants i found anywhere.

and i came down here and schlepped them even though i live way up in the north slope. they were that good.

Although I'm not much into pate, I am an easy date for some wine and cheese

Yep, that's them. We stocked our garden with plants (mostly flowers) from them.
