Achievement First Crown Heights Now Accepting Applications!

Achievement First (www.achievementfirst.org) is a network of high-performing, college-preparatory public charter schools in Brooklyn and Connecticut. Achievement First Crown Heights is now accepting applications for kindergarten and 5th grade! Applications can be downloaded from our website or picked up at any of our schools. Applications must be received by April 1, 2008.

I worked at AF Crown Heights a number of times last school year as a substitute teacher (and was lucky enough to interview and become friendly with their recruitment director Ms. W). It's a great schoool model and the kids seem to really enjoy learning. Schools like this need great teachers and great leadership in order for their mission to take hold and make a difference. I strongly encourage brooklynian teacher extraordinaires to check out the info sessions (I would be applying myself if I hadn't scored a teaching gig in Harlem).
