where to watch super dooper tuesday results?
So, I don't have cable. Are any of the bars around here going to show the election results next Tuesday night? It looks to me like having access to all those extra cable channels would be nice... anyone have any ideas? More generally, as the campaign picks up, are any of the bars here places that show political stuff (the debates etc).
thanks

Move.org is organizing house parties to watch the returns, so you might want to check their site...the candidates groups and Drinking Liberally probably are too.
For instance, I see on http://my.barackobama.comFort Greene for Change (Debate Watching Party)

Night of the Cookers (Brooklyn, NY) -
In Park Slope, The Gate is broadcasting returns on Tuesday.
Starting at 7pm, with an event with some brewery . . . -
Subject: Would people go to mullane's to watch this?
hey,
If mullanes agreed to show this (with sound) would people be interested in watching there on tuesday night? -
Totally! Right around the corner from me -- can't beat that.

I would definitely stop in. Will you post if they do it? -

Subject: mullanes update
Hey there,
So… mullanes is still up in the air… i need to ‘check with the bartender on tuesday’ to see whether that person will play the returns with the volume on. apparently i can’t do that until 7pm when they get to work. I will do so but… that’s obviously a bit late. I recommend stopping by to check… I have been promised that they’ll play returns on one of the tvs but that I can’t be guaranteed volume. So we’ll see.
My other ideas for the future are:
1. Rope - i called them too. they were super helpful. they’re getting cable and were very very supportive about showing this sort of stuff w/volume on the big screen (though, i do hope that they’ll also require dog owners to keep dogs on leashes when they have events… who are those people? but i digress).
2. Alibi they do show the news w/volume regularly… but the tv is small.
3. The new place Kif (where liquors was) they don’t seem to have a phone # yet but i did notice they were having a superbowl party and had a massive tv screen.
4. Red Bamboo which also has a huge tv screen. -
So is Rope on, or no?

Subject: no cable yet at rope... report to Mullane's
sorry for confusion.
rope will - eventually - be a great place for this... but as of now they only can show dvds. No cable yet. so... cross your fingers that mullane's will put on sound. we can go watch there. -
that'll be great once Rope has the cable set up and can host something like this. a nice easy stumble home after celebrating or mourning the results.

Grazillela's on Vaderbilt has a large screen TV as well. They are very accomodating.
