Joanna Newsom last night at BAM

there were scalpers outside last night. you should stop by tonight. so well worth it. truly incredible.

the first half she played the entire Ys album with the philharmonic. second half she played with a band consisting of drums, a mandolin and a violin, most of my favorite songs from Milk Eyed Mender. i can't remember the last time i was so moved at a concert (despite being surrounded by so much knife-cuttable pretense, though that probably goes without saying god some of the conversations i overheard were really funny).
