Pacificana, World Tong, or Park Asia for tonight?
So-I was all set to have dinner at my favorite Brooklyn Chinatown restaurant, Diamond On Eight tonight and they are having a banquet!
So, after looking around, i see people here seem to like these 3 places also. I want to go to a place that is largish and has a variety of dishes to choose from (not just dim sum-we are going for dinner). What say all you great Brooklynians out there?

Can only speak about Pacificana: dim sum experience was great, menu items are supposed to be similarly tasty.
Very large space. -

I've never been to Park Asia, but I like World Tong and Pacficana a lot. I've never been to Pacificana for anything but dim sum, but I've heard that the regular menu is also great (in the interest of full disclosure, a colleague of mine is friends with the management). I've been to World Tong many times for dinner, and it's usually great, but I have had a few disappointments.

Well, when googling for Park Asia-i am not finding anything. though, I found plenty of info about the other two. Perhaps park Asia is gone?
After reading around the net, i am seriously leaning towards Pacificana-but, keep the thoughts coming! We seriously love Diamond On eight-wish they weren't clsoed tonight. -
Haven''t been to Park Asia, and haven't been to World Tong since Joe Ng left for Chinatown Brasserie. But went twice recently to Pacificana on a friend's recommendation and used this Robert Sietsema article as my eating guide. I didn't have any dim sum but had a bit of everything mentioned here...this place is great!

DARN! Pacificana is out also-just called them and they have a full house tonight-wedding party! Guess World Tong it is unless they have something going on too.
just called and made a reservation at World Tong-hope they are good. -
I find Pacificana to be a bit inconsistent for dinner (dim sum is fantastic).
It may be that you really have to know what to order - just perusing the menu may not get you to the best choices.
That being said (or written, as it were), Pacificana is a fine restaurant and you'll enjoy it.
Getting close to New Year, so a lot of the big restaurants may have banquets. -

Make sure you get some seafood items (just check out the tanks and point to what you want). -
^^Really? Point at what I want? Wow-that is fresh! LOL

Just had a great dinner last night at Lucky 8 at 5204 8th Ave in Sunset Park.
Dungeness crab Singapore style was really tasty. Sweet fresh crab with a sweet and spicy sauce. The spare ribs in vinegar sauce also would have been worth the trip alone- lean and tender, with a baked-in sweet, vinegary, spicy flavor. Tofu stuffed with minced shrimp was pretty standard for that dish. We got 2 veg dishes- Chinese broccoli in garlic sauce and pea shoots, both of which were great, but I liked the Chinese broccoli better. I let them talk me out of the Fu Chow fried rice (a seafood fried rice) in favor of the house special fried rice, which was the only disappointment (it was a little bland). As I was leaving, I saw a bunch of Chinese kids getting a Shabu Shabu-looking thing that also looked tasty.
I definitely plan on putting this place into the heavy rotation. -
Ooh-that sounds good! Been craving Chinese food again lately-maybe we will try that place out this weekend. Do they have a website do you know?

Be sure to report back with what you think if you try it! And definitely get those ribs (assuming no dietary restrictions against it). -
Pacificana on 55th Street and 8th Avenue has good food and service. Its space is wedding-big. Here's Pacificana's menu:
