If this goes through I will never ever visit Mississippi

Just came across this:

I want to believe that this will never pass but the way things are going you never know.

  • HA!

okay, i was worried when i saw your post, but believe me on this one, there is NO WAY. ZERO WAY. ABSOLUTE ZERO WAY.

southern food is too good and too fried.
  • they do realize that if that were to pass then every single eating establishment in the state would be bankrupt within two months right?
  • Not to mention that that would create major civil rights headaches.

Not everyone becomes obese from eating too much. Sometimes they get that way because of a wonky thyroid, or because a disability prevents them from moving around much. In which case, it becomes discrimination against the disabled.
  • What's wrong with it?

Reputable bartenders take it upon themselves to stop serving intoxicated alcoholics.
  • Drunk is a temporary condition. Plus it is much easier to ascertain that someone was drunk from drinking your beer than it is to determine whether or not someone is obese from eating too much or due to a medical problem. If someone is obese because of a medical issue (and this does happen; I've known people who were normal weight until they went on a certain medication and then became obese very quickly; obesity is frequently a side effect of many medications), then that becomes discrimination based on disability which is ILLEGAL.

I don't know how the manager of the Chuck E Cheese is going to figure out who's fat from overindulging. He ain't a doctor.
  • Oh c'mon - you were never going to go to Mississippi anyway.
  • Im sure it won't pass but I just cannot believe that someone actually took the time out to draft this

If you have a wonky thyroid shouldn't you be on weight watchers in the first place?
