I got a couple of calls about this - they went off of the ol' FM waves with the Smooth Jazz format. They will be broadcasting on HD radio, however, if you should happen to have one of those layin' about...

Subject: cd101.9 smoothjazz

Subject: I HEAR THAT!!!!
Don't forget Jammin 105 suddenly became hiphop over night! And that was my exercise workout station
Do the listeners get any say in the matter????
And the CD101.9 website suggests we listen to 98.7 KISS FM, which is good, but it does not make up for the jazz, where is the smooth jazz stations? There is none that I can find on FM radio. -
Subject: This is Bullsh!t!!!
Why did they do this to my 101.9?????
Guess we can still listen to WBGO, Jazz 88, at FM 88.3

Don't forget WFUV, 90.7 FM. Real jazz and college radio at that.

Yeah, grow up and listen to some REAL jazz.
But if you *must* listen to Smooth Jazz, there are a ton of smooth jazz stations on the internet, such as Absolutely Smooth Jazz on Sky.fm -
Why don't we all send feedback on their webpage and say they should bring back the format. I agree, the audience declined, I don't listen to them as much as I used to because the jazz music they play is not fun like it used to. It was getting dreary. We need to hear upbeat and lively jazz, not the sleepy sound they have been playing lately.
One thing for sure. The preset for CD101.9 will be re-programmed
to another station and definitely not rock music. -
Subject: cd101.9 lost the jazz years ago
This is what I posted on the cd101.9 comment board:
Unfortunately I saw this coming. I complained for years about this station's programming. I called, sent emails, then gave up. There are so many jazz artists, but the station for some reason played other types of music. You lost your fan base because you did not play the music real jazz fans tuned in to hear. It's a shame. Your programmer did not do the homework....and tried to copy other stations playing music on the top 40, old r&b, any filler music except jazz.
My jazz collection surpasses what you played on this station. Thank goodness for the internet & itunes. I guess the fans gave up and found their own sources of jazz.
The jazz is gone thanks to your staff....your so called jazz staff by the way was not very reflective of the area it served. I am sorry for sounding harsh, but this was avoidable. Like we tell our children, be yourself, stick to your cause...you should have stuck with the jazz.
