Preferably soy, although wax ones would work too. theres some kinda funk coming through the floor in the apt (from the basement) and it smells...not good. Target candles aint cutting it- any place sell Mrs. Meyes (or the like,) candles? I called the places listed as their distributors on their website but none carry candles...

  • Try 3R Living on 5th Ave. near Garfield.
  • There was a post here not long ago about this topic that had some really good ideas

  • i believe Natural Heights, on washington and st. marks, owned by our own whyfi and mrs. whyfi, carries soy candles.

    ETA: yup. http://www.natural-heights.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?
  • i've bought a few at living on 7th (i believe living on 5th has now closed) and they are excellent.

soy, clean burning with great scents. pomegranate and red current are my favorites.
  • Yaba on Flatbush near 6th Ave has lots of Mrs Meyers, don't know if he stocks the candles...

And the groovy card store with on the east side of 6th Ave at Prez/Carroll has scented soy candles.
If you belong to the coop, there's super cheap soy and beeswax hidden away on the end of an aisle by the checkout...beeswax smells subtly of honey when you burn it.
  • Lolli, kids store on 7th, has candles. So does Loom.

Ditto. I got this turquoise one that isn't really overpowering, but kills noxious odors. I'll check the brand when I get home...can't remember off-hand.
  • ask a co-op member friend to hook you up
  • ^^ LOL!

What about that store on Garfield right off of 7th Avenue? I can't remember the name of it-but, they sell candles, don't they? And, Chairman also does-not sure if they are soy or not.
  • Living on 7th has the best candles...but I hope you have a lot of money 'cause they ain't cheap. They do last long though since they're so well made.
