Buying loose herbs in Bed Stuy/Ft Greene

Does anyone know of a store that sells loose herbs in Bed Stuy or Ft. Greene? I'm looking for horsetail, nettle, and some other stuff... Does that new organic food store sell loose herbs in their bulk section?

I didn't see loose herbs in the bulk section of Green Planet when I stopped in, unfortunately. mostly grains and dried fruit.

Try the African Market on Nostrand between Jefferson and Putnam. I think they have loose herbs there.

Not in Bed Stuy, but in Crown Heights, on Nostrand near Park, there is a store called Imhotep's. They sell a whole bunch of loose herbs. It's on the right side of the street and they have a little vegetarian/vegan restaurant in the back. It's on Nostrand right before you get to Park.

I recommend Imhotep. Not only for the herbs you're looking for, but they have a great selection of veg. protiens and tofu "meats" that trumps all the healthy groceries I've been to in the city. And their take out food is the best. Unbelievably inexpensive, healthy, and delicious! I love this place.

I recommend the Jamaicans at Nostrand and Pacific. They got the best bang for the buck. Though just about any corner will do in a pinch.
