Just saw the channel 4 news reporting from Park Slope about the snow.
It's been snowing for 8 hours and it looking really pretty outside.
Downside: looks like the garbage men are not picking up :?

Anyways, enjoy your weekend everyone!

EDIT: If you are going to take the D train home from NYC to Bkyn, think again. It's all messed up! 2:44pm. Try another line.

  • Sledding!!!
  • um can I just say how excited I am about this?! I moved from NC a few years ago in search of snow and have only gotten a few inches over the last few years, this thrillllls me!!

    Anyone want to go sledding?!
  • Wish I wasn't sick, otherwise I'd head out and go cross-country skiing in the park.
  • the view from my midtown east office window is gorgeous. the snow is just floating around. and the flakes are BIG.
  • I'm into sledding, but I have to leave for work at 2pm so it would have to basically be now.
  • i have no snow-related great, i havnt been in this much snow in 15 years.
Will there be kids up in the park? I might just go watch them be cute :)
  • "The city is providing sleds, music and hot cocoa, and Urban Park Rangers will lead nature walks and teach revelers how to find animal prints in the snow."

  • Bloomberg is on TV right now. STORM WATCH!!
  • holy crap. <3 Except I dont have a child and dont want to look like a pedophile
  • I can't believe that the PARK SLOP PARENTS NAZI BRIGADE won't let people out of their house on a snowy day for fear of pedophiles taking advantage of the snowy revelry. I HATE PARK SLOPE AND AM SICK OF PARENTS DICTATING HOW THINGS HAPPEN AROUND HERE! First it's strollers in bars, now it's no-stroller,no-park?
  • ^^HUH? did someone forget their medication today? LOL

I think Carmen is pretty safe hanging out in Prospect Park to watch the kids sledding and stuff-and, hey Carmen, my kid is dieing to go sledding but I have to work-feel free to swoop by and take him. ;)
  • I think someone's sarcasm-meter has gone awry.
  • Oops-me bad. :)

    Kid still up for grabs!
  • That's so weird as just last night I was watching an old Simpsons episode that opens with Kent Brockman waiting for the death toll from the snow to shoot right up from zero.

"Oh my GOD! Damn you SNOOOOOOWWWW!!!"

Can your kid shovel snow? :P
  • I wish! LOL

My oldest is now too old to do it because he now has a full time job and won't get home until late tonight and then will work again tomorrow. this is the first snow where I am going to have to pay someone to shovel my car out-my other kid is too young to shovel-he's only 7.

But, i do know a guy who will shovel your house for 20 bucks if need be
  • dude, 7 is not to young to shovel. I remember my ass being out there when I was 4 and 5. It took half a day...but I think that was my moms intent haha
  • Damnit! The rain is washing away most of the snow.
  • to shovel or not to shovel?
  • new2hood wrote: to shovel or not to shovel?
If you don't, when the temperature drops tonight whatever's left is going to turn into an ice slick after this rain.

Well, I guess I should have put it this way. he can shovel-but, do i really want him out there all day and dropping snow into the neighbor's yard? LOL
  • wait, there's rain????

  • It's hell out there.
The BF tried to take the D train and after being held at every station for way too long, he hopped on the M train, which promptly went out of service a few stops down the road.... the 2 & 4 lines etc were down completely.... finally took an R train home.

    Don't say I didn't warn ya'll!
  • has anyone taken the F this afternoon? How's it doin?
  • wait so ... what's the train situation now?
  • That's what I'm sayin. I'm in Midtown right now, on the D line, heading to PS in about an hour or so. Are they still all jacked up?
