i don't know what happened, but as i was walking home tonight around 9pm i saw that it was open.

Update: I saw it was open Thursday night, but then yesterday (Friday) afternoon it was closed again! I hope this isn't the end of Saje... I really enjoyed that place, I go there all the time.

it's a little too late for Saje though. Bristen's is opening up on Franklin & Sterling though and that is a legit business that will cater to the community in the rfinest way possible.
But does anyone know what exactly Saje or Bristen's is doing for the Community of Crown Heights? -
hope saje isn't moving to evenings-only. i like an afternoon there from time to time.
as for "the community", that's a pretty general question. what kinds of things do you have in mind? i believe they host artists' groups on a regular basis, they show local art, and often have local performers. they also provide a few jobs, of course, and give people a nice place to hang out. they may do other things, too, for all i know.
i was pretty grateful to them when our building caught on fire and the church across the street only let us stay on the steps until it the fire was out, but not until we could go back inside. it wasn't bad weather or anything, but we did had two unhappy cats in a carrier, so we couldn't exactly waltz off to the museum or the gardens. sage let us sit in the cafe -- cats and all, since they were in a box -- until we could go home. -

Weird, in the first sentence it sounds like you're supporting Bristen's. Then in the next you ask what it and Saje brings to the Community of Crown Heights.
But does anyone know what exactly Saje or Bristen's is doing for the Community of Crown Heights?
I don't know, Guest, what do you bring to the community of Crown Heights.
Open a legitimate business in the area, w/ board approval, pay your taxes on time, clean your sidewalk, be polite to your neighbors - that's all that Saje, Bristen's and any other business has to do for the Community of Crown Heights. -

bristen's isn't open so it's hard to tell

saje (in no particular order):
provides free wifi
adds dimension to the food offered in franklin
offers a relaxed space where community groups can gather (even if some of us are just drinking water/tea/coffee)
supports the efforts of the Crow Hill Community Association
has a great vibe
i applaud all the new businesses on franklin
and may they be as diverse as possible
