PS Work-from-home peoples...lunch buddy?

edited November -1 in Park Slope
Basically....this is a shot in the dark, but I get so, so, so stir crazy working from home, especially during the winter when it's really hard for me to force myself to go jogging on my lunch break. I know theres a lot of people in PS who telecommute, and wanted to see if anyone was interested in getting lunch a few times a month just for some basic non-electronic human contact (and to witness my awesomeness, of course.) It's always good to have local friends and all that.
I promise I'm not a psycho, although this post seems a bit desperate (hey, all my friends work days in the city!) If anyone knows of a group that does this currently, I'd be totally down in joining that too (I tried jelly but it always fills up fast and is only every other monthish.)

Halp. I need to get motivated to shower and get dressed before 4pm!

  • That sounds like a great idea.
  • Love this idea! I lose motivation to head to the Y or take a walk during the winter too. I don't know of any lunch groups, but I'd be interested in joining or starting one.
  • I could be interested.
  • Great, Im glad there's interest here! Where does everyone live (general area?) I'm in south slope on 7th near 15th, so something in the 9th st area (5th or 7th is fine) is ideal for me only because I really can only get away for 1.5 hours max during the day.
Does anyone want to try this sometime this week? I'm going to Jelly on Friday, so that's a no-go...but weds or thurs work!
  • Wednesday and Thursday are great for me! I'm at 6th Avenue and 19th Street, but don't mind the walk to the 9th Street area.
  • I am around 9th and 5th as well.
  • I'm a north sloper/Prospect Heights.
  • Can I come also???

I'm not psycho either (during the day at least)
  • Does anyone have interest in doing this tomorrow? Thurs is possible and Fri is off limits, and I dont know my schedule for next week (might be at a client some days)

    Anyone?
  • In case the link doesn't work, Meetup.com has a lunch group. Just search for Park Slope Lunch and it comes up first thing. It doesn't seem like anyone here needs it, but it's an option.

  • I work from home at the moment, but I talk with my mouth full, scratch myself inappropriately and I'm pretty boring. You wouldn't like me. I throw food too if people piss me off.
  • Subject: If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding!

I could do Thursday this week. I'm not psycho either but I can only get away for a hour.
  • this might be the cutest thing ive ever seen
  • Wednesday is great for me and Thursday could probably work too. Friday works too, come to think of it. I swear, I do actually work.

And I'll just throw in- I'm not psycho either!
  • I'm out of town at the moment. If this goes well this week and you do it again next week, please post details. I'm a non-psycho work-from-home type who could use more human interaction during the work week.
  • Rumor has it i'm going to be at a client site at least part of next week, I should know more this weekend and I'll post something for next week! Any suggestions as to where to go? Nothing too pricey!
  • How about Daisy's Diner on 5th Ave?
  • OK How does THIS Weds, 3/12 work for everyone? 12:30? Lets think of a spot if there's any interest...
  • Ack! I totally missed this message.

Carmen, I'm still interested in doing a lunch meetup sometime soon (if yesterday's never happened).
  • did the meet up happen? is this still going on?
