Tempo Presto, Change-O?

no clue.
it absolutely amazes me how often that spot turns over.
meanwhile the little donut luncheonette place on 5th and pres
keeps on goin and goin and goin. -
That spot has bad mojo (if you'll pardon the pun). There's just something about it that's not inviting. A large part of it is the big, exposed concrete patio; it should be fenced in with wood or iron (not uninviting plastic), and filled with as many leafy plants as possible. The view of the scary, decaying building next door needs to be obscured completely from the view of anyone eating there. And the indoor space needs to feel more airy and less like an underground parking garage.
Until the space "feels" right, no business will make a success of that location, no matter how perfectly center-Slope it is. -

isn't that place shut down soon to be turned into part of Associated? Or, am I thinking of something else? -

No, you're correct. The 5th Ave Coffee Shop closed a month or 2 ago, and the Associated is taking it over. However; the 7th Ave Donut shop still lives, which makes me happy. -

lol - didnt realize. havent been in there in oh about 12 years.
it had been there since gosh knows when, long before i arrived.
and despite the bgeltique and ozzies, somehow stayed open,
meanwhile prime 7 ave corner spot constantly goes dark.
i find the incongruity a bit humorous. -
Would be nice if they made the space into some kind of beer garden. Maybe a 7th avenue branch of The Gate?
