    The Brooklyn Botanic Gardens are always nice when the weather's a little warmer. Ice skating in Prospect Park is fun, too.

    When it's warm, a walk or a bike ride under the Verrazano bridge can be lovely, as can a horseback ride on the beach in Jamaica Bay.

    There is a stable right next to the Belt Parkway. You can drive there, or you can get there by bicycle (as I have done a number of times) on the bike path which starts at Sheepshead Bay. The stable is just a little ways past the Flatbush Avenue exits from the Belt Parkway.
