I've seen her dogs on walks with their dog walker. They ARE adorable, and the brown one gave me a good sniffing
I'm sure your cats were angry about that :P -

Nope. My cats liked dogs. I'm equal opportunity, but because of my lifestyle (renter, travel a lot) I can't have a dog -

Hook. Line. Sinker.
Ok, I'll point out the obvious for those who can't figure it out themselves...people should use some common sense:
1) be suspicious of questions/comments that seem to be poking around controversial topics
2) be especially suspicious of the above if the poster is a newbie
3) rinse & repeat -

it doesnt smell at all if you use mulch instead of gravel.
I'm totally not interested in one of those nasty little dirt pits like most city parks have as dog runs. I think we do way better with the shared use idea.
There's one of those fenced dog runs in the park on Fifth Ave and 3rd-5th Streets.
Is there one at the park between the main library and the Bklyn Museo/Botanic Gardens? I know alot of people that walk their dogs there. That's Prospect Heights, btw, not PS.
there's no dog park at the mount prospect park (the one b/w the main library and museum). i got screamed at by a truly psychotic woman for having my dog off the leash there.
But I have used the dog run in JJByrne Park and unless they have prestinky mulch down there ...mulch in dog runs smells. And those not frequently enuf emptied garbage pails filled with plastic bags filled with you know what have their own aroma. The dog run I am talking about is likely to be dismantled and become a garden for the Old Stone House. I have mixed feelings about that. -

I looked back over my posts to see what I could have possibly said that you didn't appreciate and realize that my post complementing Shiskab's dog insulted you.
I am so very sorry and apologize for offending you. -

I can't imagine that there could be a park without leash restrictions, or at the very least without muzzle restrictions like the laws they had in Venice when I was there last (which was a long long time ago).
I was bit once in Washington Square by an off-leash German Shepherd who decided that he wanted to grab the Frisbee that I was about to throw.
Fun stuff!
Not too long after that, I got a ticket for walking my own Shepherd off-leash in the wee hours of the morning. What goes around, comes around, I guess. -

It was still pretty damned funny.
Gawker Media writers get paid a bonus according to how many page views they drum up. (http://www.ojr.org/ojr/stories/050412glaser/) So they come on a forum, stay stupid stuff they know will cause a commotion and then, viola, instant article.
As a further aside, the comments are actually done by the Gawker writers as another small way to increase traffic. The majority of them are not real. (http://gothamist.com/2008/01/23/gawker_commente.php)
Somehow I doubt this post will make it into the Gawker machine. -

I don't know why I got quoted on Mr.Mets statement on douchebags, what breed are they French? -
Subject: DOGS in the PARK
I cant believe they allow dogs to play in the same place. I disagree with you sir... the parks are for dogs and people alike...but they shouldnt be allowd to go to the bathroom where people/ children are playing. After all, you're not allowed to go to the bathroom in the middle of the great lawn....even if you did use a doggie bag to pick up after yourself. -

That sounds more than insensitive...
wow. the word that comes to mind is "unexamined."
I don't think racists should have dogs, let alone be allowed off-leash.
Notice the white poodle? Change a couple letters and you get white power. I don't want any goose stepping gestapo dog playing with my Max.
