can't just narrow it down to one:
killing in the name - rage against the machine
fuck da police - public enemy
i wanna be your lover - prince
edge of seventeen - stevie nicks
supreme supreme - blackstar -
blue moon - elvis
yesterday -beatles -

okay, maybe it's not a #1 all-time favorite song for me, but it sounds soooo good this raining morning. and mp3 embed land is not so africa-rich, so this is a nice change
Carn, I feel you 100% with the ska and early Clash selections -
Thanks pitu, although that Clash song is actually from Combat Rock (an under-rated album).

-
Mainly because I just listened to them on Pandora radio (http://www.pandora.com/)...
Sweet Jane - Velvet Underground
Mother - Pink Floyd -

Was that the Boards of Canada song you were referring to, jeffrey? The embedded player doesn't seem to work within a quote.
-
Yep, that particular BOC (not to be confused with woot.com BOC) is right in the same vein as Portishead.
As for quoting the embedded player, flash doesn't do as well as an nth hierarchichal loading element, so note that it just takes a bit longer to load in things like iframes and quoted areas, that get loaded *last* in the page.
So it's there, but yeah, took forever to load in.
Sorry 'bout that. I will be more careful next time.

mindreader.
Combat Rock is indeed the exact moment I walked out on the Clash.
although I remember that song.
I bet even their later less good stuff sounds good now...
It's Saturday night, but I couldn't find any good P-Funk on skreem....@import url(http://skreemr.com/styles/embed.css);

I love that Iggy Pop song, pitu.
Btw, if you can't find what you're looking for on SkreemR, you should check SongZa or SeeqPod. Sometimes a song will be on one but not the others.[/i] -
Very silly question; 'ever' is a long time and spans a lot of genres.

The Seekers - A World Of Our Own
The Clash - Rudie Can't Fail
Neil Young - The Needle and the Damage Done
Fleetwood Mac - Second Hand news

this song does rule but omg, what a pain in the ass to play on the radio! I love it and would play it anyway, but I would basically have to kill it halfway through before the 'fuck you' portion started. which is, frankly, a great component to the song, though I just loved the bass work, so any part is worth hearing. -
Sorry about the long ass list, I got a bit carried away. These are just a few of my past and current favorites.
SeeqPod - Playable Search -
awesome song.
Iggy Pop - The Passenger

David Bowie - Be My Wife

This thread is a great way to discover music you may not normally listen to. It's interesting though that I was worried everyone would think my choices were totally lame and then Carmen posted her playlist. It's not lame if you like it, Carmen!

Good stuff on here.
I almost forgot My wasted friends by Ike Reilly. I can't find a full version to embed (yet), but if you run across it, it's a great song. -

re: the peaches song. sounds like it's a live version but I'm too lazy to find the studio version. unfortunately, she kinda blows a lyric a bit and she sounds stoned out of her mind, but interestingly, the lyrics are much clearer in the live version than in the studio version. very unusual.

Drano, you are aware that Swervedriver is coming to town, no?
(I ask because I live under a rock myself and miss stuff like that all the time.)
Also. DrJ. Tackhead. Yay!!!
Can't really narrow it down to one either, but right now I am looking for "Prize" by Kitchens of Distinction... unsuccessfully.
How bout some Unrest?
And some Maiden since I'm seeing them tonight?
