Vet in Ft Greene for my kitty — Brooklynian

Vet in Ft Greene for my kitty

My Cat seems to be limping a bit and I am concerned. I'd like to take him into the vet for a check up. Does anyone have a vet they can recommend?

Thanks.

    I second that.

I know it's not in Ft. Greene. Heck it's not even in Clinton Hill but their quality of service has consistently been outstanding.

BTW you should really cross-post this in the Pets Forum.
  • The answer you will get on the Pets board is a resounding YES for Hope Vets.
We haven't seen any other recs for Ft Green as far as I remember.
  • I really love Dr. Ackner at Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital on Vanderbilt.
  • Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the vet I saw at Brooklyn Vet on Vanderbilt, but I can NOT give her my recommendation. I'll spare you the details but she made a terrible, painful and costly mistake in my dog's care and the procedure needed to be re-done, including another 3 weeks of healing time. The vet then had the audacity to try to charge me AGAIN for their mistake. I blame myself for not questioning her judgment when it seemed questionable to me at the time.

I won't warn you against them, as I can't say for sure whether the doc we saw is even still practicing there, but I would recommend that you ask as many questions as you need to feel 100% comfortable with their assessment and plans for your animal's care.

I've had mixed results with Hope and found them to often be rude and/or brusque. They've attempted to examine my dog without me being present on two occasions (taking the dog by his lead and starting toward the examining room until I stepped in). I have limited confidence in them, although my friends that go there swear by their doctor ( again, I'm sorry I can't name her specifically) and the consensus on the message boards seems to be positive.
