Dog Rentals
Yup, Flexpetz are back and badder than ever with a new rather complementary write up yesterday in the NY Times.
Prices are up too, $280 a month now.

Subject: Dog rentals
This is the most ridiculous thing ever for animals. What kind of person rents a dog and how in the world would you ever know how it's being treated while they have it? I truly understand missing having a dog around if you had one and are too busy to keep a dog full time. But consider the dog....
AND how confusing for the animal to have lots of different people with lots of different training methods (I believe thats a stretch of the imagination thinking dog renters know how to train the animal.)
And where do these dogs come from? I mean, would you ever let someone rent a dog you loved or even cared about? How do you know the person won't let the dog loose? Or abuse it? Or just not give a damn what happens to it?
I'm sorry, but as an animal lover, this is one of the most aggravating and disturbing ideas imaginable. -

I'm far from defending the business, but I will note that you obviously have _not_ read the NYTIMES article I posted, many or all of your questions are answered there.

Point taken. I just read the article, but still have reservations on several different levels.
But I certainly can understand needing the bonding that can be done only with animals.
So here's a mea culpa to you.
