Drop off laundromats?

I'm looking for a good laundromat I can drop off my laundry and pick it up at around 5th street and 8th avenue or close by.

Laundry ain't my forte - My last attempt to do my own laundry resulted in multiple pairs of shrunken shirts, pink socks and a horrified boyfriend looking at his small pink shirts.. :roll:

    why drop off and pick up? they will do it for you.

    i have to add my name to the recommendation pool, as others have done. It wasn't that much more expensive, if at all, than clean-rite, plus the whole folding and free p/u and delivery.

    I really like the laundromat at 8th Ave and 11th Street. They're fast, and they bundle all of my underwear together with rubber bands, so I get a nice, fresh brick of clothes...mmmmm!!!

    I use the place at 8th and 11th too. I also like the fact that they rubber-band my shorts and my socks into bricks, and one time after the drawstring on my laundry bag broke, they threaded a new one in without my having to ask. Just one caveat: Don't accept the separate wash for whites. My partner and I both learned that the hard way when we got back colored items that had been bleached beyond recognition. (You'll also save $1.75 if you skip the separation.)

    And they do let you do your own wash. Every couple of weeks, I take a few synthetics over and wash them without putting them through the dryer.

    Sounds great - what's the place on 8th and 11th called?

    Also, has anyone used Grace Cleaners on 9th st between 8th and PPW?
    Please correct me if you have better info, but I think they're the closest one to me (I'm on 5th and PPW) but i haven't seen any reviews for them and don't really want to be a guinea pig.

    So I used Grace on 9th between 8th ave and PPW and they're pretty good..free pick up and delivery..$18 for 20 pounds. Is this comparable to the place on 11th and 8th?
