They are filming Julie and Julia---about Julia Child.

Nice scoop! Thanks. -
oh, cool!
i lived in her old room in college, which has given me an affection for her, even though i was initially disappointed to realize that my childhood belief that she was a TV chef played by a drag queen was incorrect.
(i don't know how she dealt with that room -- the ceiling was so low i could touch it, so she must not have stood up all year) -

And all this time I thought her posture in her later years was due to osteoporosis!
Ok, I'm sorry for that one. That was in bad taste. -
seriously, man -- that ceiling was like 5'8"
my favorite recent story was when our college alum magazine -- which is a consistent embarrassment of fluffy articles -- did a special issue about food. the school is (somewhat justifiably, somewhat irritatingly) proud of its dining traditions.
naturally, the big name sidebar article was about julia child. they interviewed some other foodie alumnae, too, and they asked them all about favorite meals in school. julia child said something like: "food? oh, no, no; i didn't really eat in college. i found out about good food later, in france. in college, i had a car, and we mostly skipped meals and drove around the valley going to speakeasy's." -

I left late for work this morning, around 10. They had an actor about to go through the turnstile with the cameras and directors about to shoot the scene. I happened to be walking through the turnstile as this was happening, and when i reached the other side they shooed me to the side and told me to move out of the way!
I'm wondering if it's the production of the new Taking of Pelham 123?
I didnt think my boss would be too keen on an excuse such as "a movie being filmed in the subway caused me to be late". Needless to say I cut through the camera crew and caught the train just in the nick of time! :P -
