Having eaten at both In-N-Out and Sonic (in VA), I have to say that I prefer In-N-Out...

If you think 24 is old, honey, you're going to be really disappointed when you get into (oh my god) your LATE twenties!!!
Not to mention, the dreaded EARLY thirties!!!
Whoo, is it hot in here??? ](*,)

Bleh, I just had a b-day, and I've been eyeballin' wrinkle creams.
Aging sucks!!! -
what's actually cool about Sonic is that they have this "mix and match" thing in which they do what a lot of us did at McDonalds soda fountains when we were younger, which is a little bit of Coke, a little bit of Dr. Pepper, etc.
the burgers are regular fast good quality, to me, though. certainly nowhere near In-N-Out, or even Five Guys.
i could have sworn i replied to this, but don't see it now. i actually thought the burgers and fries at the Five Guys on Montague were very good. it's actually two patties on the regular burger. again, In-N-Out is the Mercedes Benz of fast food burgers, so I wouldn't say it's as good, but it's certainly a burger I'd put up against any other in the city. i just hope the PS location is nicer and roomier than the BH one. -

Hey, that's nothing. The day you start using hemoroid cream on your face and wrinkle cream on your butt, then you know its all downhill.
Aging sucks!!!

Homeowner recalls Tuesday fondly.
Ah, springtime.

In-N-Out has nothing on a Tommy Burger!

In-N-Out has nothing on a Tommy Burger!
Only problem with a Tommy's [which are my #2 burger in LA besides In-N-Out] you have to 1) wear old clothes and 2) eat it outdoors, as it is one sloppy burger.
Tommy's is truly a great burger. Truly one of the top 10 in the nation. -
HELL YEAH!! TOMMYS!!! =P~ =P~ =P~
But I must say the thing that makes Tommies freeking awesome is the chili, the actual meat patty is pretty bad, but you never notice it under that cheesy sloppy mess of wonderful chili.
Now here's the thing: you buy a double double from In-n-out and you buy a cup full of chili from Tommys and whala!! The PERFECT burger experience.
Ok I need to calm down now, I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it.dw438 wrote: [quote=Carnivore][quote=WhyFi]Having eaten at both In-N-Out and Sonic (in VA), I have to say that I prefer In-N-Out...

I love the hot pickled peppers they have with it too. Kind of like at the cheese steak places in Philly. There's something about hot pickled peppers that goes great with greasy meat and cheese.

You folks are making me feel nostalgic with all this sad talk about turning 30 and 40.
I'll admit turning 30 was difficult... it meant I couldn't trust myself (or any of my friends) any more! (note cultural reference)
40 was no problem.
50 was OK.
60 was a bitch! -
Sonic was in my town for at least as much of my life in AR as I can remember. Th shakes and fruit slushies were my favorites. I miss it. That was the "upscale" fast food in my town that was filled with McD's and Taco Bells.
And my folks seemed to have fond memories of it from times before we were born so it isn't too new. -

It was the "f-you" more than anything else.....that's just rude. But I'll let it slide. Don't get this old bag riled up! [-X -

It seems that with these BK locations they're falling short. Bummer. Big bummer. I was SO stoked when I saw the first signs go up in BK Heights. *sigh*
No sense complaining about it before it even opens.
You can't compare to Johnny Macks or Bonnies. It's fast food. Stay away when John Jay lets loose though. -
What booklaw said!
One of the benefits of aging is getting to the point of not trashing a restaurant until you've actually tried it a couple of times.
I, for one, am looking forward to any new opening that holds the promise of actually having an edible burger. Five Guys? Who knows? But I'm willing to give it an honest chance.
And, I love Bonnies. -

whoa -- mcD's WAS the upscale fast food in our town.

to clarify, i only meant that it was new to nc. -

A finger wagging too! You are an old bag. Thanks for letting it slide though - we all make mistakes.

I recently sampled a 5 Guys in Va on my drive to Alabama a few months ago. i liked it. I also liked the free boiled peanuts. Some chains are good. When I was in Vegas I hit a Loco Pollo (or is it the other way around?), I thoughtthey made better chicken than most of the places in the Slope. Quite frankly at least 50% of the independents in the Slope don't so us any culinary favors.
Howdy, Stranger!
