Extraordinary week in Park Slope!
Even if it rains cats and dog tomorrow and it turns out to be a dreary day in Park Slope (which it won't because the prediction is again for a beautiful day) I still would have to remark on what a glorious week this has been so far. My spirits are so high and the down mood that I remember from three weeks ago is gone. We are in the midst of Spring in NYC! This evening we took a walk to Blue Ribbon. We had a beautiful meal. This is not a restaurant review. On the way back I was just particularly overcome by the blessings of living in this City, being able to afford eating in this special place and being blessed by health, good enough to get me there and back and my own two feet.
I guess I am just wondering if anyone else has felt the same renewal of spriit this week of exceptionally warm, consistent weather brought forth for me.

I felt the same. This is wonderful. Nothing to do with the winter. Everything changed. Everybody is out. I'm really happy and you see the people is enjoying everything much more than before.

I was traveling for a few days and when I came home all of my plants had made significant progress :-)

I had a pretty bad week -- locked inside all week, nose to the monitor, working long hours and many other annoying obligations both before and after work. So I didn't get to enjoy this first-blush-of-spring week.
But there's nothing like catching a whiff of Veets' lilacs as I schlep out of the 9th St R station and up the hill...cheers me up every time.

Oh, wow, I feel exactly the same - I got off the subway a stop earlier this morning just so I could walk - had Billy Joel's "New York State of Mind" on my iPod - all was right in the world. Feels good to be alive every single second

Veets - thank you for reminding us to be grateful for the small things in life. Your positivity is wonderful!

Aw I'm glad everyone is having a good week! Mine's been shit (see my methodist hospital finger incident, then yesterday my car was towed and word from my mom is that my grandmother is back in the hospital) but I can't imagine it can get too much worse! I hope the weather keeps up, i'm over all that rain.

I'm loving this weather. I never exercise consistently in the winter because of the cold, but in the spring, the budding trees, blooming flowers, and longer days get me out walking again, and that really boosts my mood.
Thanks for this post, veets. We spend so much time talking about the annoyances in our Brooklyn nabes, it's nice to focus on why we love them.

Oh yeah I forgot to say the Lilacs are out and smelling up the whole block..
Love it!! -
Finished work early the other day and it was so beautiful out. I just walked around park slope window shopping and enjoying seeing everyone outside. Just wish my wife did not have to work late that day.
Howdy, Stranger!
