What's up with the new look, Brooklynian.com?

Oops - you are right. Will fix that soon. -
If I click someone's name above their avatar in a post, it takes me to _my own_ profile rather than theirs or pm (I forget which it used to do.) The PROFILE and PM links at the bottom of their post work fine.

Believe it or not, that fix is next on the list... -
i gotta say this new look is far too BUSY
my eye doesn't know where to look and it makes the threads hard to read -
Mine keeps jumping back and forth between the old look and the new look. I keep turning it BACK to old look, because the new is almost impossible for me to read on my screen (way too busy and poorly laid out). So I have it set to old look, but when I click on the actual topic, it shows me the topic in new look. It's a little frustrating...
-
I too had it set to the old look which was way better but now am getting the confusing, busy new look. Hate it.

I do not like the way the website looks today. The text in these narrow pink boxes is not easy to view. The pink message boxes are surrounded by four inches of white space. The messages are not easy to view.

the new look is the definition of awful. I doubt I will be back.
-
You've probably heard this, but the new layout looks very different on my home PC (using IE) than it does on my work Mac (Firefox). For example, on the PC, everyone's sigs are bunched up in the bottom right corner, while on the Mac, they looked fine.

wow. this new interface looks horrible. and it seems to get worse and worse everytime i log in... flops between old and new, and now it's just bad. you guys should really switch back! get more and more unuserfriendly by the day!

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for restoring the classic, "old-school," or whatever-you-call-it look. I just couldn't take that new design. I think sometimes less is more when it comes to Web interfaces. I mean, we come here for the local commentary and the neighborhood gossip, not to take in 3 columns, each with multiple elements competing for our attention. The best design, IMO, is the one that facilitates the social aspects of the site without being confusing. The classic design is classic for a reason....

i agree with every single word brooke lynn said.
thank you for giving the classic look back -- call me old-fashioned, but the new look was way too distracting and hard to navigate. i hated it. -
Whatever the source or reason we got that awful design yesterday, it was a disaster.
Can't really imagine anything that bad would have been intentional.
It would have been a deal breaker. What would I have done at work all day long? -
Nice suprise that this morning the forum opened in the old format. Whether a site is offering information or trying to sell you something it is more inviting to use when the look is "clean" and navigation is obvious and easy to negotiate through.

its like the classic coke can't go wrong.
-
Much as it probably chagrins you to hear this....I prefer the "old school" look too, now that I've used it again.
-
I love this new retro look - reminds me of the old look - easiest navigation ever - sometimes simplest is bestest

Agreed, but where is the front page? I liked getting a look at all of the new posts in all of the forums.
