Allergist in the slope

Forgive me if this has been covered already, but I did some searches and couldn't find anything of use. I'm trying to find an allergist in the area, great if they take oxford, but if you don't know I can inquire myself.

Sorry for intruding in your local boards all the way from Philadelphia, but I can't help checking the traffic every once in a while because of my very involved husband......
Here is some possibly helpful info:
My friend and former co-worker is an allergist in the area. She practices on 10 Plaza Street. Her name is Cascya Charlot.
I know that she has sound medical knowledge and she is very nice with her patients. Her treatment plans are up to date. She is a Harvard Med school graduate. She trained at NYU for internal medicine and did her Fellowship in Allergy at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn (where I was with her).
She just started her own practice in 2007. I can only highly recommend her, not because she is my friend, but because from working and training with her, I know she is good.

    Here's her website: http://brooklynallergydr.com/
    Hope that helps
  • I second dr. Charlot. I had only one visit so far but liked her.
    Check her out

I didn’t have a chance to write my review yet, but it's coming.
  • There is an experienced doctor at Methodist Hospital on 7th Ave and 6th St.His name is Dr. Harooni. He is very thorough and knows his stuff.

To my knowledge - correct me if I am wrong - Dr. Harooni is an ophthalmologist. If that is correct, he would be very qualified to deal with allergic conjunctivitis (eye allergies), however in my opinion there is much more to allergies than the eyes. I think, for the whole picture an allergist would be better. Allergists are trained to give advice on allergen avoidance and also have the option of offering patient-tailored allergen immunotherapy - which is a great option. Of course I am biased.
  • I've mentioned this before, but stay away from Dr. Schneider on Clinton. She's a disaster and a half when it comes to personality and general courtesy.
