Teen cooking classes at Get Fresh!

(Ages 13-17) Come join us Thursday afternoons at Get Fresh and learn about everything from cooking wild and crazy superfoods from all over the world to creating and pulling off a fabulous four course dinner party! Each afternoon we will get together to eat, cook and learn everything you have wanted to know about all the wild things people do with food and much much more!
AFTERSCHOOL SNACKS INCLUDED!
First Fridays: For those students signed up in the Cooking and Wellness series, there will be an extension Thursday afternoons from 4:30 - 5:30 where we will learn how to develop and produce a four course dinner menu for 20 guests. There will be a dinner party hosted at Get Fresh on the First Friday night of each month where our students can show off what they learned!
Topics this session include:
Sugar and Spice - How to eat sweet without sugar. Ever thought you could make sweet cakes and treats from a cactus, leaf or rice? Learn to cook all sorts of yummy sweets with natural sugar alternatives like agave nectar, stevia and brown rice syrup.
Veg for Life - Ever thought of going Vegetarian or Vegan or know anyone who is? Learn the myths associated with being a Veg Teen and cook up some great easy foods that are both fun and healthy!
Eating for Energy - It's not always easy to get breakfast every morning or find foods throughout the day that can keep your energy high and still be good for you. We will cook up some fast energy fixes that you can just grab and go and still feel great all day!
Fear Factor - There are some really wierd foods out there and we get to learn about what they can do for you as we try them out and put together strange and super recipes.
Raw Foods - If you have ever heard of the Raw Food diet and wondered what it's all about, this is the time to shine! We will learn all sorts of great raw recipes from a spaghetti marinara to a chocolate pecan pie
Roll it up! - There is nothing better than a little package of food and every part of the world has their own tradition! Learn how to make all sorts of rolled and stuffed goodies from sushi and ravioli to dim sum and empanadas
Free for all! - Our last session will be an "open studio" style party where you get the chance to put together and try out all of your favorite recipes. You also get to take home a goodie package for completing the series with some wonderful gifts to keep you cooking and inspired!

Cost: $350 for series, $500 for series and First Fridays extension
