Massage in the Slope — Brooklynian

Massage in the Slope

I need to find a place in the Slope to get a massage this week. Any suggestions on where to go? Are the salons/spas on 7th Ave any good? I don't want to have to haul my butt into the city but my hamstrings are tighter than a drum. Thanks!

  • I haven't tried her yet, but a friend swears by her massage therapist called Leslie

WOAH, I went to her 2 years ago, lost her info and have been (half-assed) trying to find her ever since!

She was really good and very professional. I felt like she really knew what she was doing, and she was very friendly. Also, if you're a member of the NYRRC you get a discount.

Also, there is a place on 7th and, say 16th or so. I've been meaning to try it cause it is close to me. Anyone been there?

I havent tried that place but we live right near it as well, if you go let us know how it is!
  • Leslie is great!!! And you also get a discount if you know her for NYSC. best massage ever!
  • The place near 16th is a bit weird. It's not the "spa" experience at all, but a more utilitarian approach. Cheap though! And no major committment.
  • i always go to spring thyme on 7th ave and carroll. Not a spa, but a good $85-for-an-hour massage from old-school asian practitioners and younger people too.
Recently had a gift certificate to Dmai spa on 5th ave. wow. for $100 it was very spa. white robe, sauna, etc. And the therapist was very knowledgeable. I didnt think she would be as good as the people at spring thyme, but she was better.
so for the $15 more, which is totally worth it, I will go to Dmai for massage.
  • My wife really likes Opal on 5th. You have to call to make an appointment, though. It's not a walk-in type place.

D'Mai probably does a good job as well, but my wife tends to go there for spa-y stuff AND to Opal for a massage.
  • I LOVE opal. so good. I am from California, where massage is the state pastime, and Opal is the best I have ever had.
  • Just wanted to say I went to Leslie last night and it was a fantastic massage. Hamstrings are feeling MUCH better now. (www.lesliemassage.com)

Her technique is really helpful for all of you runners and cyclists out there.

How much money for how much time?
  • 1-Hour, $80. A fair price I think compared to other places I have been to in the nabe.
  • My wife pulled her back. Ill take her to lesie
