Amen. I love BT in general but that thing is FANTASTIC. The touch of cinnamon that they use in their braised short ribs really make all the difference

I will say that I, a Miami-raised Cuban-American, was pleasantly surprised by the Cuban sandwich at 'Snice, of all places. There are non-veggie spots in NYC that can't make a Cuban sandwich as tasty as that.

City Sub does make a great, but extremely guilt-inducing, sandwich. How many slices of cheese go in one of those things?

The possible sandwich combinations at Bierkraft are downright amazing as well, and you get some pretty high-end ingredients for an $8 sandwich.

The best sandwich, though, will always come from the A&S Pork Store.

Lunch only, weekdays. Can't go wrong with old-school.

I found that online...I remember a very thin pickle ,too, I believe.

It's one of the better invented sandwiches I've had. Unless they really do make those in Italy. Their fried calamari and coffee is pretty good as well.

Tavern on Dean, in PH makes a delicious steak sandwich. I get that almost every time I go there.

I haven't had their steak sandwich. So far the best steak sandwiches I've had was from a Sabrett vendor who used to hang out in front of the Key Food on Carroll & 7th. He made delicious shish kebob made from cut steak. It was marinated perfectly and seasoned well. It wasn't at all like the rat meat on sticks you get from most of these vendors. This was back in the late '80's/early '90's. He was a 60ish gentleman from Puerto Rico who put his kids though college on my business alone. I guess I'm showing my age. The other best steak sandwich I've had was at some truck stop diner in Mississippi. I was on a road trip to New Orleans and stopped in. Nice marbled rib eye on a hero. Real good.

I can't believe I'm reading this before breakfast! I was thinking of making myself some steak and eggs, and next thing you know, I'm here! I wouldn't actually recommend their sandwich, as it was a bit too fatty. (And I prefer fattier cuts than most) I'd give 'em another chance though, as I love that space.
Does that place on 3rd and 9th do steak sandwiches? Any French places to recommend?

The Peter Luger sandwich (homemade roast beef, lettuce, mozz, and Peter Luger steak sauce on an Italian hero) at Pollio on 5th Ave and 5th street has become my sandwich of choice lately.
