  • um i kind of have to ask. High heeled sneakers?!
  • best plants i've found in park slope are at the korean (?) deli on 7th avenue between like 12th and 13th ish....it's a block or so away from union market on the same side of the street.

i trek them back to the way north slope because they are that good, super healthy and cheaper than any others around. and i've looked a lot. greenmarket sometimes has some nice ones too, but i still prefer this place...

btw, does anyone happen to know where one can have mulch delivered from in the slope? i just need a few bags, but no car...

can't help you with the high heels....sorry.
  • These are teh best, but $130...

Edit: $91 on sale. Shit, that makes _me_ want to buy them!
    shopbop
  • Shannon's nursery/florist has plants at decent prices and is great for major supplies like mulch, peat, soil, etc. It's up on ft hamilton pkwy across from greenwood cemetery. I take the 67 bus to where Macdonald ave meets hamilton and walk. I get a car service home usually cause I go overboard and buy too much for the bus home. Call ahead to see if they have the size/type mulch you want. If they don't have it in they'll order it.
  • We've gotten some nice plants at the greenmarket at Grand Army Plaza.

Can't help with the high-heeled sneakers, though I could put the word out with some of my drag-queen friends.
  • Oh, I forgot about the sneakers. I think keds is making some this season and they usually have those at DSW in the atlantic center. Not super high, just 1-3" ish.
  • Century 21 in Bay Ridge/86th street has some truly awesome high heeled sneakers.
  • I can't address the sneaker part but I buy plants all over the place. yesterday I went to Zuzu's Petals on 5th Ave..They have a garden in the back. I bought 4 lilac plants that I planted and will spread ione day to a mini lilac field. Not cheap but Zuzu's has some really interesting healthy plants that are a little less common. You want marigold go to Lowes.
  • We've also gotten some great green friends at the GAP greenmarket. Littls guys, big guys, all still thriving. Some from 2 yrs ago. Plus, the org that sells them there works with training programs for at-risk kids.
  • You may be able to get mulch and soil delivered from Leopoldi's hardware store, 5th Ave near 8th St. They usually have plants for sale, too, if you are not looking for anything unusual.
  • thank you for the advice! i will give leopoldi's a shot. i do love that place.
