  • Spotted this on Gothamist just now:

    Okay, now that is funny.
  • You can also spot it in real life on Fifth Ave around the corner from Union Hall.

I don't think there's actually a doggy bakery around here. Made me think the sign came from Carroll Gardens....
  • Wow, you guys are STILL talking about this??
  • Actually, there is a doggy bakery on 5th Avenue near Lincoln (or thereabouts).
  • Do they allow children?
  • I thought I grew up in Bklyn but after reading this thread I realize I grew up in Bizarro world. Cause where I'm from kids dont belong in bars, period.

    They bake dogs?

Don't be silly.... think of the liability issues.

    Hmm, how dogmatic

    Hmm, how dogmatic

It's more disgusting to drag innocent, helpless human babies into crowded, loud bars filled with drunk idiots than it is to eat dog meat.

Pigs are smarter than dogs, but no one gives a hoot if you bake pigs.

    Yeah, but a dog's got personality. ;)

    Baked or grilled?
  • I just noticed that Brooklynpotter got quoted anonymously in the New York Times. When are these reporters going to give credit where it's due?
As one Sloper recently groused on Brooklynian.com: “How come the mommies get to make all the rules around here?”

Umm yeah no kids in bars makes sense in a rational world ruled by logic. Unfortunately that does not seem to be the way things work anymore. Believe me I am not a curmudgeon and I am actually quite liberal but some things just don't belong together - babies and bars don't mix in my opinion. Stop being so damn self-important people, if you need a beer go get one and drink it at home. If you need to go to a bar, find someone to watch your child. That's all there is to it.
  • I just wanted to say that I have finally visited Union Hall for the first time. The whole back area with the Bocce Ball, you can have. Not too exciting at all. But the whole part of the bar that looks like a library? I dig it. Although it'd be even cooler if there were older monocle wearing gentlemen smoking pipes hanging out there.
  • Karl snapped some pics of these very aristocrats headed that way, down 7th Ave.

    Surprised you missed them.
  • If you're talking about that Onion article, I did see them. I just didn't happen to remember that this morning. :P
  • Yep, that's the one, with the picture featured in this loverly thread.

    Enjoy. :)
